I can't find any news on this. 1000 pip spike on GU and 1500 on GJ. A lot of big traders just got wiped holding longs after the massive down move.

Well... we were below the lowest low in decades for the pound. There was zero demand/support to be found below so i guess it can be compared to the eur/chf floor below its fixed floor level. There simply was no reason there either to have any long positions... I guess they knew it could spike like this...
