DislikedHi Bk8, As a matter of interest about your strategy, would you not use a higher and/or lower time frame as confirmation of the trend? RegardsIgnored
Disliked{quote} You're right. Also thought the same already. However, I find EA programming in MT a pain in the ass, compared to NinjaTrader and C#. So I took the opportunity today and spent some hours programming a strategy for NT7 using C#. I had it running over all the major pairs from 01/01/16 to 08/12/16 and the results are surprisingly good: {image} I attached the code for the strategy. Not sure if I implemented it 100% correctly. The script doesn't care for sideways or counter trend for instance. Just rename FX1DSMA5_3.txt to FX1DSMA5_3.cs. Couldn't...Ignored

Disliked{quote} Yes agreed! That's why i love this system, so simple and easy, it must be one off the most simple systems here on FF. That does not say it is easy to make money with it, it never is. On the other hand, i don't mind others to look at different ways to trade this, if al is well in a short while they confirm your theory about lagging non working indicators.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thank Dean, that has really cleared up in the simest way when and when not to take a trade with this system since before I was one of those overall losers but I appreciate I am a novice trader, I do not take into account many things on a chart that others might with price action and candle formations but obviously this system is designed not to be used with those considerations. I am curious though how do you know when to exit a trade or would you just set a 1:1 RR ratio and be happy with that.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thats the beauty of this style is trail the stop loss above previous day's high , looking at a couple trades from last week there would've been some very nice winners producing 3 times the reward to risk and more, every now and then you will catch a steam train that just won't stop and that really is the sweet fruit or cherry on top so to speak of this style. We are never trying to pick tops and bottoms but sometimes with this style you accidentally do so you just enjoy the ride moving the stop loss at every candle close.Ignored
Disliked{quote} True I see your point but I do find sometimes depending on the candle formation that this can leave the stop loss to be quite large as sometimes these candles after they have broken through the pivot point, it can leave a large candle giving a huge stop loss and only leading to a positive stop loss point after 2 or 3 days, although I agree sometimes there are massive rewards when a long trend has been found.Ignored
Disliked{quote} This exactly what I mentioned couple pages back, as a profitable trader now after 8 hard gruelling learning years I have learnt to scrap RSI, macd and all that other garbage you mentioned. My turnaround from losing money to being proftiable was cleaning my charts right up and only applying my supply and demand zones that was it. I commended BK8 for a simple daily strategy with a clean chart, and was afraid users would start coming in and messing it up with all these lagging indicators. For example RSI is turning up, well duh, we can see...Ignored
DislikedHello BK8 and thanks for your sharing I hope I can join this thread too I would like to ask a question? What is the reason of the shift for SMA? Or in others words, why we need to shift the SMA for 3 candles? And are there anyone using cTrader desktop? Although I can shift in the cTrader Mobile, the desktop version do not allow me to shiftIgnored
DislikedHi BK8, Thanks for sharing your method. I have a question about SMA 5 shift 3. Is it using close price or typical price? The reason I am asking is that somewhere else I saw a method that was using EMA 5 shift 3 on typical price. Thanks, JauharIgnored
Disliked{quote} Welcome jauhar.. we use close price. So far we were using SMA 5,3 but today I relliazed that SMA 5,0 can do better job. We will be using SMA 5,0 going forward if we all agree.Ignored
