hmm... it may get complicated "recognizing" top performers if we end up with a lot of traders. We'll see how it goes. But we won't lose sight of the primary goal, and that is the 1 year profitability. Once the first trader reaches that, we'll reassess proper recognition moving forward...

One idea would be to create a public Google sheet with all the usernames of those participating. It could link to their profiles and maybe someone could update the all time return each week or month.

interesting idea...

For me, one thing I don't want to do is spend too much time tracking all of the traders results and my own trading suffer, lol

But for now, we'll see see how many participants we get. I'm thinking if we get a HUGE number of traders, I'll probably just go back to only focusing on the 1 year profitability goal, and leave it to each trader to announce when they get there and/or if/when they reset their account...

Yes there is a way to do that Benaiah.

First you can check starting deposit from the trade history page. But you have to adjust setting in the Home Portfolio Setting on the Account and edit all trade history and balance sheet can be seen by check the Public permission. The first to the third pictures from my Trading Account. The last picture, I have taken from Geppy Challenge Trading Account here http://www.myfxbook.com/members/geppy/challenge/1711280

You already have a TE. Why not just use a July 22nd as custom start date with TE? That was the date of your first post here so would be acceptable start date with your current TE account, since you have not needed to made any deposits since then. Given your outstanding performance up till now, I'm sure you can achieve another profitable year...

Mozak, if you don't want to do the custom start date, no problem. I think July 22nd is easy for me to remember your start date, since it is the same as mine... So, welcome to the challenge!

oh, just thought of an issue. It may be difficult to track progress if it's not easy to just look at TE and gauge results. For example, your results calculate from last year, whereas mine and other calculate from later start date...

Mozak, I just checked your trade history, as I was curious... You had a gap of several months where you did not trade from last fall to this year. So, I it seems you don't really have 12 months of continuous trading yet, although your results are still outstanding.

So, I think it makes sense for you to just set a custom start date in your TE if you want to be included in this challenge. Make sense?

Well, of course, it is confirmed in my mind, this challenge will test your patience, discipline, humility, and perseverance... I thought I was going to blow up today, as I tried something different, and deviated from my normal trading style. Ended up with 40% draw-down, and one trade was a 26% loss!

Fortunately, I was able to claw back. I won't be trying out anything new, moving forward, lol...

Note to all who are up to this challenge...

The more I think about tracking progress, I think each trader needs to take responsibility for this for their own account. I can't be spending all of my time making sure each trader is trading every month, or when they started their account, or if they've deposited funds or blown up. etc...

I will attach the TEs of the top performers each week or month here as I have the time, but I'll need to see posts from you if you want to be included. I won't be searching the thread for TEs to see who's performing well.

As far as the 1 year milestone, you'll need to announce your achievement. So, nothing changes, as far as the thread rules, but I expect each to police themselves and follow the rules. If I find someone "cheating", I'll block them from posting here...

I'm not great at putting things delicately, so I apologize in advance for how this may sound.

This thread will not take off.

The reason is because you aren't willing to put in the time to make it a success. You say you don't want to spend time tracking progress, so why spend your time starting the thread at all?

It wouldn't take much time if you set up a system:

1) All those that want to participate must send a PM to you

2) You add all participants to a public Google spreadsheet with a link on the first post of this thread. All participants in the spreadsheet have links to their TE's.

3) You update the spreadsheet results every week with weekly return and all time return figures.

#3 sounds like what you're afraid of. But really, it wouldn't take much more than 15 minutes. Maybe less. Simply clicking through to people's TE's and inputting their data is super fast.

But since you aren't willing to do that there's nothing here to keep people coming back. That's the key to any thread's success and survival. People have to want to come back and visit. You need a reason.

Right now you have a concept for a thread, but no willingness to carry it out.

Sorry if that's too blunt, it's just the way I see it.

hmm... I don't really care if the thread "takes off". If I only have a few traders participating, that is okay with me. The overall purpose of the thread is already stated in first post, so no need for me to reiterate it here, so... what I will track is if it becomes obvious someone is not following those rules, and it becomes a distraction to that overall purpose...

Edit: also adding this to the first post, as it really sums up the overall purpose of the thread...

Primary goal of the thread summed up: Recognizing individual achievements, promoting transparency, honesty, patience, humility, respect, and discipline. The goal will be to encourage and recognize as many traders as possible to reach the 1 year milestone
