{quote} For shame, for shame... How can you compare apples to oranges if you've never had an orange? Much like a lot of the FF membership, I seriously don't want people to trust my word. More over, I typically don't really give a flying fuck what most people think. Reason being, I've been around to see the over woolen eyes of the average schlep at FF and their trading myths and habits. It really is kind of sad. Like this guy -> Hanover This fucking clown has something to say about almost everything...

This weeks trading matrix.

X marking Days to Close due to High Impact News.

I won't have anything live in markets this week, but will keep the demos cooking, really...just for shitz n gigglez.

Tickmill has modified their margin requirements, but I'm not sure this applies to their demo accounts...I guess I will know soon enough!

The entire week, due to the change in margins will most likely see everything go a little batshit crazy, so for statistical purposes, I am not going to lend a lot to the week...some might do better, some may do worse and this in fact may collapse the accounts...but as it isn't a week that I'd be trading anyways, why count it for or against the logic of the EA?

28 pair stats...last week there were a few moderate losers and 1 that looks a lot more ugly...

EURCHF.

It didn't trade a lot of days last week, but it sure wasn't happy when it did.

All honesty, I typically don't trade this pair...nor any other CHF pairs for that matter, so I am not entirely sure that it was just a bad week...or if this CHF just doesn't want to play by the rules. Really...with exception of EURUSD the only others that resulted in net loss on the week were the CHFs.

I think it wss the interest rate news that messed the chf up. I had one broker running chf pairs and one disabled. DD was ugly thanks to the chf pairs.
As for the otter account, I was glad I disabled them

That was my observation. What you think?

I think in my history of trading Forex, I've taken maybe 5 CHF trades...

I'd love to weigh in on this, but in all honesty, I have absolutely no idea why it traded like a complete piece of shit last week...

Trading unfiltered, it did a little better on recovering the losses of EURCHF, and even did a little better on the others, not finishing below water...but this still isn't enough for me to get all pumped about having this on a live account.

A single week, can't really be the teller for all future, but it will be worth watching over before I'm back with live trading on FKIC.

One of the other things that had occurred to me, was to write another EA to test for News Days. Something that recognizes the trend a little more efficiently and trades it to the immediate instead of to the day.

The idea is like this...

Instead of sitting out News days because they may have no apparent love for the daily trend, have user selection to either:
1. Sit them out - which we are currently doing.
2. Have the option to trade faster trend recognition...

I do have another little piece of code that I can work on for the High Impact News days, if it works out well enough, see if I can mill in the additional option for FKIC.

28 pairs in trade, 5 days a week is a little scary, but if I can confirm the logic and profit without greatly increasing the DD...this might be the very thing that FKIC needs to be 100% complete.

Shit...even just the 7 pair action trading the full week without this same issues would be welcome.

Will work on this over the next week and get it testing for NFP.

Don't think I will exactly knock it out of the park on the first trial, but if I can allow it to evolve the same way as was done with Falling Knives, a couple months down the road I may just have the most kick ass EA available...

Maybe even look to set it with auto news recognition days and then be pure set and forget...no more weekend matrix?

Juices are flowing....

Keeping my live accounts off for now, but on my demo 28 pairs test I am still running.
Was running all pairs today will close off all GBP, AUD, USD and EUR pairs for Tuesday.

Current Floating DD sitting at -540USD but profit not including Floating DD is sitting at +314USD, so net of -226USD DD if was to close out floating.
Lets see how she finishes up, I close trades using normal logic so it should minimize the DD and hopefully end in profit for the day.

Hope everyone is still having fun with this, I know I am.

Hi Magix
will the ECB chair and Allen speech will have any impact on EA's performance? Are you closing EA in advance?

Resisting Temptation is all...

The more I watch, the more I want in...so taking a little time away this week.

Unfortunately, my traders got a little fucked up when I left for the day yesterday and inadvertently clipped the surge protector hooked to my modem and router...so, with open trades, it was basically bagging them without protection or profit...by the time I finally noticed, it was already TK session.

Overall...just looks to be a bit of a blip on the radar, nothing serious...but kinda fucks my stats.

Oh well...New beginnings next week.

I have 2 accounts; 7 and 16 pairs that are wide open for trading. The 28 pair in test, has EUR and USD pairs filtered for today.
NO Live Accounts Running

Not going to be spending a lot of time watching these this week, will just be more interested to check back in after what could be complete carnage on Thursday.

Enjoy the week!

quick Q magix

when on a certain pair, you have a set of sell orders open, only for the dragon to then start opening buy orders, is that usually a good enough indicator to close manually the sell orders that have been opened?

Typically...Yes.

If you go through your historical trades on FKIC and see how well it does by way of directional changes and closing, you can see that if it starts to buy, you most likely don't want to be selling.

I think it was Reamasesa that used one of the previous versions in live trading for helping to decide trend.

The definition of the trend and triggering has been consistent with all versions, only the exiting logic has evolved.

If you don't want to see a lot of trades or are worried about Draw Down on your account, exit the positions whenever you aren't necessarily in agreement, but almost definitely when FKIC decides it's time to look for another direction.

There will be some days when the channel is narrow and the range is weak. Inside of these, a directional shift is valid by the definition of trend in the logic, but may not offer enough range for prosperity. These ones can make small profits or losses, depending on the speed of price. Not a lot of these days, but they are out there.

Treat the logic like the logic treats the market. Prospering when it can and cutting losses when it can't.

Speaking of the Dragon...

Here is one of those exceptional situations.

The area in the red circle was a retrace on trend, but just narrowly missed the primary triggering for longs.

This would be a lot more ugly, if we were still attempting to continue in the sell cycle, but as the trend recognition in triggering has now defined a long cycle, no more shorts will be added.

With this week...hard to say how this will turn out, but definitely happy to say, sidelines for me is a fantastic position this week.
