What if everything you've been told about market, is wrong?

Is that the reason that so many people fail?

Really...Look at it. By old stats, there are 2000 new people to market daily and you can guess by the constantly changing head count at FF and other forums, that about the same amount are punted out of market daily. Why?

Is it really that tough?

Seems like it, hey?

So, let's have a look at the Market Cliche's and break a few rules. Just because, well...why the fuck not?

Throughout the next month, I am going to be testing and allowing others to test all by going against market grain, to see if we can figure out if everything that you hear tell about market is complete bullshit.

What I am working with is.
1. Grids that Cost Average.
2. Adding to Losing positions.
3. Catching Falling Knives (AKA going against the trend)
4. Pyramiding - increasing the number of positions in favor of the loser.
5. Un-restrained grid sizing and number of positions.
6. Minimum profit range.
7. Hedging - trading both long and short at the same time.
8. No Stop-Loss!

Now...If you are running a backtest, and this I do encourage you to do (just don't post backtest reports here), you will see that even in going against the trend, the logic is set to STOP cost averaging (Red Box)and a period where it waits to start pyramiding (Green Box).

This is the benefit of apply the posted template with either a live trade or backtested version of the EA.

Seeing what it does and when it does it.

From there, you will see that there is also a Trap Door, where it will actually cut losses...not a stop loss value, just a piece of logic to tap out of all trades where it feels that there is more benefit in trading a different direction.

Because as ironic as it may seem...

To play against the rules...

You still have to define the rules...

Hi Magix
Interesting concept.
I see although you have the setting at 15m you posted a 5m chart. Does this make a difference.?
Cheers

Basill,

The chart I posted was for illustration purposes, taken from a print screen of a backtest.

The time frame you choose makes no difference as long as you set the "Delay" accordingly.

Have some fun with it...give it a shot on the M1 and set the delay to 300 seconds or 5 minutes and watch it churn.

The idea behind the EA is as a teaching tool. More so to show when you can catch falling knives, when you can grid into a trade and when you can pyramid.

One rule I didn't mention is that there is a minimum profit set by the EA and it is $1...as in, it will close trades on a signal once the minimum profit exceeds that dollar point. In this, the longer the time frame, the greater the chances you have to gain that profit point, but that's not to say that you can't have a little fun and exercise a few of your own personal touches to the logic.

GBPAUD was a little touch n go...figured I'd be waking to a lot more blood in the account with this one.

As it turns out, there was enough of a retrace on a headfake to escape the massacre...

And as for the overall...

A little slower than the original sets introduced, but overall, not much to complain about.

Well...The closing average took a bit of a beat down...but still hitting above 50.

A decent take on the Dragon...on the single base trigger, capping almost 100 pips.

Minimum profit of $1, and we are hitting almost 10 fold.

E Haw!

Statistically speaking...

Catching falling knives seems to have paid best on GBPJPY and EURUSD.

Overall, 50% of the account gains based on the Dragon alone.

Lot size was predetermined to show gains on smaller accounts.

In future releases, I will lend the option to increase the lot size. For right now, I'm more interested in seeing how this actually plays out throughout the month.

IF you want to see more action, during NY only (after London Close), drop to the M1 charts with a 60 second delay and Move back to the M15 on TK.

You should see a lot more trades and some decent gains.

Which pairs are you working with?

You should really enjoy your visit.

The current test is to verify logic...as for running this on a live account, I have absolutely no issues with that...again, after proper verification.

Currently, I see one issue that I need to resolve in the logic, but who is to say that more won't surface.

After that, the ideas that the logic is based on are solid enough to allow it to trade with my own manual thresholds on live cash.

Thanks for stopping by...this wouldn't be as entertaining without a few naysayers.

Throttled back a touch on the triggering methodology and have decreased the gains a touch.

Overall...Falling Knives when done right hasn't actually produced any serious risks nor issues.

Week is still young as is the logic, but happy overall, so far.
