What do you think guys of opening small long position for over the weekend? I suspect another poll with high score to stay in EU. I know it's gambling, but it seems worth to play it.

That's definitely a gamble because the market could open on Sunday and stop out your entire trade. The problem with most people on this site, at least to me, is that I see mostly scalpers, day traders, people looking for less than 100 pips here and there, but not understanding or following the longer trend. If you start on the longer time frame, and then look lower towards the 4 hour and 1 hour time frames, you will understand where the price is moving. In the last few weeks, I've made over 1000 US dollars (10 and 50 cent trades) trading on all GBP pairs. Not a lot for how many pips.....several thousand pips.....but good enough to show short term traders where they err. I reccomend everyone scalping and day trading look at the poosibility of leaving your trades open for several days or longer......swing trading. This is where the majority of the money is in my opinion.

gaps are always remembered by market ,and form support and res forevermore , with forex biggest difficulty is whats real, with cable these gaps recently ,have to say are real , could well be the entire rally gbp aud was all about that large Boris gap ,with a little overrun ,its how i see chart will move lower time will tell ,ill try to come back to this chart {image}

Goldman Sachs knows what to do with the pound on the Brexit vote

As was the case for all major currencies, Sterling went up in response to the very weak US Jobs report on Friday (June 3), but in relative terms it underperformed. The GBP depreciated vis-a-vis the G-10 currencies (with the exception of the USD), a trend that picked up again about ten days ago, when polls on the upcoming referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union suggested again that the outcome would be a close call.
As we approach the referendum date, positioning around the event remains an important macro theme, and in this FX Views we provide an update on our thinking

  1. After the referendum, if voters decide that the UK should continue to be a member of the European Union, EUR/GBP could move sharply towards our 12-month forecast of 0.70. If there is a vote to leave the EU, we estimate that Sterling could weaken by about 10% in trade-weighted terms due to the uncertainty that such an outcome would create. According to our estimates, EUR/USD could fall by about 4%.
  2. Tactically, over the next couple of weeks (until June 23), we think risk-reward is for downside in Sterling, which in trade-weighted terms is still about 2% above its lows at the end of February.
  3. We prefer GBP/USD downside to EUR/GBP upside. GBP/CHF and EUR/CHF downside are two other risk-off trades that we would expect to perform well in the event of a 'Leave' vote. By contrast, we do not like GBP/JPY downside.

#GBPUSD Kudos to those that were short.... I ended up covering half my position @ 1.4232. playing with the houses money..... SL @ 1.4320
will look at my analysis to see if this is the end of the move or if there is more...... either way Great day today!

immigration isn't a problem per se ,
ok but sheer numbers are ,open borders with non equal economies ,good reason to come here ,yet completely different cultures
put simply the migration is huge ,and going forward new members will make it worse ,with Turkey threatening to unleash those there on Europe

Theres not the space or infrastructure let alone the cost per head coming though state handouts ,
no way you could trust uk official numbers ,since their own numbers are way under the National Insurance numbers issued

Anyhow our very sovereignty is already eroded ,and most likely be worse still going on ,I don't think people realise how far thats gone I didn't.
Our right to govern ourselves ,make laws ,elect and fire those in charge
To me thats a forefront even before the twisted unacountable set up that I know the UK would never vote for if thats the party up for election in our own country
