I think gtstop can participate to this strategy. Because i saw profit hundred percent/month. And if got stuck, it is not blown away in 1 day like martingale. But got stuck in many days. So we can decide Cut Loss

Didn't I mentioned to you that RdzGridTraps is also time based grid? Well, of course probably your idea seems different, am I right?
Please read through this thread, somewhere I mentioned that I no longer encouraging people to use tunnel martingale anymore.

Yes, it is an entirely different time-based conseption. I am unable to share it. Just wanted to stimulate you, if you could spot it on... Grid or no grid, martingale or no martingale, it does not matter. Forex is a SL game, not a TP one, as the majority is thinking about it and therefore losing their money at the end. The presence of a high DD is the evidence nobody pays good attention to... Anyways. I might team up with you, if you wish it, and show you how one should keep his back when chasing the trend, but the trend does not want to come any time soon and the range is there, instead, and the account starts getting into a bad shape, already. For about two decades already of online trading, many, if not all, have gone through this exact situation. About 99.99% of these have paid a very high price to learn, grids just don't work...

In a demo, on your vps, you run your EA. I do need to know some lotsize expectation when the things get shitty for the EA. And the same, when things are getting better, instead. Then I will fine tune with mine EA. And we run it together. You do close at profit, I do the same. When we run it in a team, you will be very much surprised what the outcome will be. We might need to make few additional tries until we perfectly sync these guys up... For now I am specializing in GBPUSD only.

We try on a demo. If your trend EA is good enough, the results will be quite pleasing on the eye.

Actually EURGBP is quite good for 1 cycle per day. I have tried a tickmill ecn demo from november 2015. I set the EA start at 23:00. Running from monday 23:00 to thursday 23:00. Other stop is two days before NFP. with 1% dynamic target, no stop loss. It went pretty well until about 2 weeks a go get caught bcs of bank holiday of euro zone. Before it blown, the profit reach almost 60% Lol

Mine started (already running) at 22:00 GMT. Don't think I've set max cycle to 1, but time running is for 2 hours, which is till 00:00GMT. The pair I've set with 1 cycle is only NZDUSD.
If you ask me to code/fix your EA... it's probably not for free...

I can run it, but I don't want to waste the RAM at the moment. I got my VPS crowded already, and there's code issue related to resources in my EA which I will never get it fixed in short time. We'll see at a later time once I re-coded the Tunnel Martingale.

** note: this is already off topic, since it's talking about Tunnel Martingale.

Actually i have addition to your grids concept but is related with indicators and i'm not sure if you will consider it. The indi's is to detect when the price gonna be ranging for while before next trend. The ranging is enough to get the pullbacks so limit order reach the TP. It's a tight target tho. I was testing it on demo until i have an issue with v1.7 with missing grids

I made a BT in 2010 and is veeery profitable, check by yourself, the problem is this years is so terrible in BT with the same settings. Anybody have better settings?

Hi,
I would ALWAYS suggest to do it on demo first. I guess you are applying STOP orders instead of LIMIT orders (since you are seems leaving EA running by default configuration). For STOP orders, you can try it first with the set file (started with GTS_) on this link: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...69#post8596069

I'm totally curious on your result, probably your history data having a gap? I've never got such profit when do backtesting. Well, unless there's a gap between days.

I totally agree with aquasunboy. I am the sole programmer of this EA, but I don't easily trust an EA even if that's my own EA.
Do yourself an observation for 3 months. Even for me, 3 months is too fast. Do map the risks, how far can you go, how long can you go.

Once you satisfied with it, don't drop all of your money. Do just a little live acc first, then if reaching 3 months okay with live account, then you can start with live real money gradually

Hi radityo,

Thanks for your answer and your excellent EA, well I made the full BT since 2010 to May 30 2016, and I note in november of 2015 the EA was stuck because XM have a 200 limit amount of trades so that's why you have a button of force close all trades, if we close the trades in november 2015 we lost 30millions dolar and leave the account with profit of 39 million dolar but I leave the EA to finish the BT an here the results:

I have some gaps in the chart so I will try in another broker with no gaps in the charts, only the weekend gaps.

I will try your set file thank you very much.

NOTE: to open the HTML results try in Google Chrome because I have problems when I open this in firefox.

Hi Invermac,

Your modelling quality is extremely low and any results with modelling quality less than 90% should be taken lightly.. Backtests do NOT take into account slippage plus varying market spreads so any backtesting should ideally be done with a higher spread setting.

Yes the BT never tell you if the EA works 100%, I put this EA in demo account and I will do a forward testing for one month to see if this is profitable. The BT have zero spread in XM account.

Radityo.. Would you mind explaining how trailing profit works on your 1.11 version of the EA? Do not seem to find any documentation regarding it :S

By the way, have modified the EA to accept comma separated list of dates on which the EA should not trade. Note that i have not yet done any testing on the code and it would not be the most clean implementation based on the structure of the code. It DOES work though from my limited testing.

There is a new parameter which you would see in the EA into which you should enter dates in the following manner :-
YYYY.MM.DD,YYYY.MM.DD
Eg :- 2015.01.12,2015.01.14

The above example would signal the EA to not start any cycle on those dates.

I have thought of 2 ways of trailing in mind. But the one implemented is quite straightforward, where the trailing profit will be dragged if the profit is getting higher.

I define a trailing point (which actually is a target profit), so the unit is in currency (USD or anything equivalent to currency of your account). Once the target profit reached, it will NOT close all the position. Instead it will just set Target Profit as 0 USD.

Let us assume the trailing profit (which is same as Target Profit) is 5 USD.

  1. If the total profit of the strategy is BELOW 5 USD, then no target profit is defined, and no closure point at this moment.
  2. If the total profit of the strategy is reaching 5 USD, then target profit is 0 USD.
  3. If the total profit is reaching 7 USD, then target profit is = Total profit - (interval between trailing profit and target profit) = 7 USD - (5 USD - 0 USD) = 2 USD.
  4. If the total profit move up to 12 USD, then the target profit is (as formula above) 12 USD - 5 USD = 7 USD.
  5. From the last recorded target profit (7 USD), if the total profit is 10 USD, the target profit will not be changed, still in 7 USD.
  6. Total profit up again to 30 USD? then Target profit is 25 USD.
  7. If the profit falls down below 25 USD, then EA will trigger closure. And your profit is approximately ~25 USD (compared to the initial profit state which is 5 USD).
