It's called market profile. The basic idea behind it is that the areas where price spends the most time (or most volume) are considered to be "fair".

I usually have the H1, H4, D1 open and plot it on there.

It should also be on the time frame you use for trade entry. Its direction on that time frame should align with its direction on the higher time frame you use for market direction.
