I still use GTLIMITEURUSD2 in my live account. with strict rule like avoiding any news meeting (USD,EUR, JPY), any red news, EBC, Fed rate.

Sorry about your loss.
Since last week, I change the way I use the grid EA.. see how it goes.. So far, my account has grown from $10 to $100... expecting the movement will be slow with new way of using, but see how it goes.. hope those who still on this EA continue to update how you use for better performance or minimize loss. green pips to all.

It sounds greedy, but let's take a look on the long run.

I've been testing the EA , I think it will always be a day that will die because of a strong unexpected move , which at best is to accept occasional losses. from what I 've seen, once I passed the 50 pips loss from the starting point , rarely recovers. thus , with grid 5 pips , after 10 failed jump stop orders . I am using this system EUSD , EG and ECHF . the days when no notable news, works 24h , 2 times a month jump the stop . 4 DAYS slow to recover every stop lose...

The result I posted is since Nov'15, have been gone thru from very aggressive to less aggressive now.
For the new way of trading I just traded since last week, but still using this EA and the set file I shared previously. the difference is the lot size and time of trading. No secret for the new way of trading, the focus is trying to close the cycle early if there is more positions (e.g. more than 7 positions), then I'll try to put double/triple lot of the stop order and hopefully the price retrace and close the cycle.

For example, the price goes up from 1.3000 to 1.3040, then there will be 7 sell positions trigger (my distance is 5pips) with 0.2 lot each.
Then I'll put 0.4 or 0.6 lot sell stop @ 1.3035, so I hoping that price retrace then can close the cycle early. hope this helps everyone.

You said it all !! I lost 1k week goes by in a strong move at the opening of London just over 60 pips there was no retraction !! :-( It is complicated even with the minimum risk he was using took five months but failed!

You guys have to understand that the grid concept is decades old and it's NOT a new concept. It DOES NOT need an EA to function. Stop paying attention to losers and idiots in this thread, take home the CONCEPT and the LOGIC of the EA (if you understand MQL), and put them to use.

This is a winning concept and it has been for decades. But in the hands of mediocre morons, it will be a losing concept.

The below account has been running through one 300 pip spike and one 400 pip spike. In both cases it produced double digit returns, instead of the blow up witnessed here. Why? I'll let you figure that one out yourself.

Unbelieveable that yours manage to sustain a 400 pip spike. Could you share with us the trick? Is it using lowest lot size and higher balance?

Use low lot size + % risk as account size. Don't trade in unusual conditions, before or after fundamental drivers (rates, BOJ/ECB/FED releases), use common sense and control your greed.

Key here is understanding the logic on which the EA operates, and the basic fading concepts it uses. By the time you know how the EA works and why, you won't need it anymore and you will just exploit irrational market movement by hand.

Place 99% of the posters in this thread on ignore and read OP's logic and basic concepts and understand how and why the concept works, and why it does not work. Folks.. what Zef says carries weight.

High growth is always coupled with high risk and its your willingness to accept and understand this risk that allows you to make maximum use of the EA.

For example, a config which reaps 50%+ a month is definitely high risk and the chances of a trend or spike swiping your account off its feet is extremely high. In such risk taking trading fundamental news alone is NOT the only risk trading this EA faces.

Which is why its always best to trade the EA with settings which allows for less growth and less risk in terms of trade. Lowering lot sizes is key to this.

I humbly request all of you to perform your own backtests and forward tests on settings which you feel would allow for good growth with relative lower risk and share it with the forum rather than constantly bombarding the thread with set file requests etc. Understand how the EA works and what market LIMIT orders and STOP orders work in, understand the amount of risk which allows for decent growth and resilience to trends and spikes.

Lastly and most importantly... LEARN to trade or AT LEAST understand the market so that you can take hold of a situation and resolve it.

Radityo is stuck as of late with his day job and as such do not have the time currently to spend in the forums. Just FYI. OP has not given up on the thread
