Ya, got it!
If some of you confused why, check the first thread. My stand is still the same, this EA keeps free forever.
If you ask me to code/fix your EA... it's probably not for free...

Above is the calendar on my time, SGT. About tonight's trade, I may suggest to wait and see.

21:15 > Draghi's speak on the first red box. But later on during 01:00 - 06:00, no event at all on both EUR and USD side. So, I suppose if market has moved a lot or trending before 00:00, we can start the trading today. But if there's no movement or trending, then be careful.

Second red box, if you want "more", set STOP orders on 16:00 till 22:00. It's a good time for STOP orders I suppose.

Friday, I might want to end the trade and close for this week, as some events ahead on that time.

On next week, we may need to avoid Thursday only (FOMC Meeting Minutes). But all days in week are safe. Well, that depends on the changes in this calendar.

hi redityo I have been monitoring your thread for a couple of weeks .
Last night was quite frightening.
Did a quick calculation and at one stage you account was down 639 pips
I calculated your account would have been down $5554 at one stage ie 41%
Might be a good idea to limit the number of open trades or at least widen you grid size to say 25 after 5 levels
this way total liability would have been 355 pips instead of 639 pips plus on the re-trace you would have been able
to close out your trades earlier still with your 1% profit
Sorry to see you are now in the commercial centre

Regarding commercial section, I have asked moderator specifically. Since my EA's license is charityware which is essentially open-source free + charityware license, they don't allow it to be sit on Trading System. So, I've decided to follow what FF's suggestion. So, now here we are in Commercial section. But as per my statement before, it is still FREE.
I have no interest in selling it anyway. But if there's any donation coming in, I would be happy to redirect the donation to our library in Cirebon and Lampung, Indonesia.

I've been watching last night's trade as well. So, few times actually I got this thing, and I observed that actually it got 1 cycle closed in profit already around 1%.
I heard chucrut's trade wasn't closed last night, but mine is closed. I was confused, and since the trend is quite strong, I suppose it will retract at some point of time. At 1:30pm - 3pm it was retracting, that was my time to close all trades manually.

Limiting the number of open trades won't help. Either we cut loss, or price has to be down below. I'll tell you why I kept 30 order per side in GTLIMITEURUSD2.
Assume picture below is the upper side of our grid.
Attached Image

When the price moves up and retracts back, halfway to the middle point is normally the break-even point. Now, if I limit the order, I may not get a chance to close all of my orders, because I don't have upper order that supports me when the price retracts back.

So, the break even point for a full grid is shorter. Compared to the right side when I try to limit the number of orders, the break even point (and take profit) is even lower than the current. So, right now, I may still in loss. But 4 hours ago I closed it manually in profit.

Well, widening the grid is another good solution to this. I don't deny on this, and we can try to use it. Widening the grid is also a good chance to set the setting a bit down lower rather than current.

UPDATE:
Just looking at the chart, I should be in full profit by now if I didn't close the trade. But I don't want to toss coin on the air...
I'm already in Live account...

It stretched to open market, since the trade was in loss, and I don't have any stop loss applied. Yes, avoid important news.
I'm quite worried with the recent market, it was quite unexpectedly forming a trend when it was during closed market times, and no high impact news came.

Thanks for illustrating your point. I am (& I guess the many others are also) grateful for your effort in your visual aid to help us in our understanding.

Analysis of S/R indicated that a good likelihood for price to bounce off 1.07733 resistance. I would sweat if price break above 1.07733 level.

My 2 cents worth...

Another problem I see is your lot size in dynamic depending upon equity or balance and that becomes a liability if the market does not retrace. Either one increases the grid size or reduces the lot size or a fixed lot for a fixed target then the draw down can be controlled significantly. I have been using a 0.2 fixed lot for a fixed target of 50. My draw down was well under my control.

Regards

Hi all!
it has been a thug session today...
We had unexpected movement in late NY and during Asia also, there were not Red news. Adrenaline was pumping

In my case GTLIMITEURUSD2 had different results from radityo: checking his trade explorer in his case the EA closed a first cycle around 19:50 GMT and then started a second cycle that he closed manually today around 07:15 GMT.
In my case it didn't close a first cycle because the Target Profit didn't get reached, so I had a single bigger cycle to manage today, it closed automatically around 11:15 GMT reaching Target Profit.
I didn't close it manually because when price started ranging (in the zone where radityo closed all manually) looking at H1 in my opinion there was the possibility to fall a little more to retest the daily open and the 1.0720 area. Due that from last friday NFP we are ranging in a channel without serious break outs (in my view, i'm not a pro, i just try to make my analysis to not depend from hopes). My worry was if it would have fallen more before Draghi speech (13.15 GMT) that made the euro rebound, i was ready to to close the cycle and accept the loss if, before Draghi, the price would not break the 1.0730 on the M5.

I think that the results were not the same due to a profit multiplier issue because when a cycle ends the Target Profit will increase due to the balance/equity grow, but not every time will also increase the lots size. So even having same set files different accounts could need a more o less amount of pips to reach the Target Profit. To have exactly the same results we should also have the same balance...

My thoughts are that could be an option to shift the trade window 1 hour forward. Many times, in late NY session there is some movement left, and if the price trends we'll jump on it later, safer. Other possibility that i thought is to decrease a little the Target Multiplier, i thought like from 0.015 of GTLIMITEURUSD2 to 0.010, to try to catch better exits (less profits, but i prefer them to bigger drawdown, and because I noticed that most of times the close logic of the cycle is "right in start point", using the option that i love "close after X open" = 2 from GTLIMITEUERUSD2 and less times due "target reached"). I would not increase the grid step, with the one from GTLIMITEURUSD2 (75 points) I feel good.

I'm running also a tighter and aggressive grid in the same time window, it made something like the Radityo trade explorer: 2 cycle, more or less closed in the same areas, but having a tighter grid i had more orders opened, and so a bigger Drawdown.

Today I think i will run the EA, Draghi created some volatility but is also US bank holiday so i think we won't have to much movement from London Close.
But i will check 30 minutes before let it run. Tomorrow like suggested by radityo i think is a better idea to turn it off and go to take a walk (o put in play Stop Orders)

Thanks for the review, bro chucrut.
I have the same opinion with you after looking at chart, I'll run it today (1 hour later). I'm still keeping everything same, no change on hour.
Friday morning is off day to trade. Don't want to take a chance.
Can't talk much, replying from phone. Will reply again tmrow.

Chucrut I am very interested in the settings you have discussed, would you be so kind as to share your setting file so I can try it on my demo account? I got hit hard yesterday by the overnight trend and am looking at different ways to combat it.

Many thanks in advance, and thanks to Radi for sharing your awesome EA, I think with the correct settings this could be a consistently profitable system (we just need to find them &#128521

Hi Bvalen,
Do you refer at GTLIMITEURUSD2 from Radityo?

Here you have, they are for version 1.7
(I didn't try v 1.8 yet)
I only modified "Close After X (Start Point)" = 2

Because the firstly posted by Radityo have "Close After X (Start Point)" = 1 but later he modified to 2 (from what i understood, please Radityo correct me if i'm wrong)

Hi Rad,

I believe that limited trading has no furture even if you add a stoploss.

You may not like to listen, but there are several problems have not been solved yet:

1. Disaster/accident happen, market moves 200-500 pips with no warning at all

2. Ranging market but has exquisite move which just against your system

hi radityo,

does the EA has a built in feature to auto close once your grid went back to break even? or do we manually close ourself?

would be great if the EA has this built in to close break even should this situation arises (ie trending)

thanks
