If your target is dynamic (equity or balance) and you have a relatively big equity then it would not close or the price has gone too far one way or if the maximum open profit orders number is high.

If your balance is too small, try multiply the loss multiplier. I guess that is the issue.
Just look at my post earlier. The easiest way to say is like this:
if you set loss multiplier to -0.25, basically you want to accept loss not less than 75% of your balance. If you set it to -0.50, you want to accept loss not less than 50%. If you set loss multiplier to -0.75, that means accepting loss not less than 25% of your balance. And if it is -0.003, then you calculate yourself...

Hi Michael,
it doesn't matter where do you live. What matters is, your timezone and date-time on the PC/VPS when you run the EA. Otherwise, inaccuracy will happen and EA will be executing orders when it is not supposed to be.

A thought

Seems to some problems with vps could you use a smart phone with MT4 running on it using your home wifi
Just get a second hand phone and leave it plugged in for just this purpose???

Any thoughts

Mt4 on mobile couldn't run the EA..

Whatever essential, I will put it on documentations. I'm still updating it.

OK.

Summary for this month (since today is the last day of the month).
In my Live account, I have booked profit 22.1% for October 2015.

Considered as small, but it survived FOMC, ECB Interest Rate, and Fed Interest Rate. So far only these 3 things we need to avoid. If there's many high impact news at the same day, please choose to avoid that as well and play safe.

I'm looking forward for the profit of November 2015. I'm praying this account will not blew off, as we already know which point we need to avoid.





Separately,
I was trying to stop but I can't help it. Today I was trying to build "stupid" mechanical EA. It is totally simple algorithm, based on assumption, find trend based on stupid method, put buy/sell based on the trend, but it yields quite number of profit.

(1) manual intervention has to be in place when price never retrace into profitability and went somewhere else
(2) I did not "respond" to price when it went to the opposite side (in your perspective, it can be said that i just do "buy limits" and no "sell limits")

The main merit in your approach (in my opinion) is margin increase linearly per positions, this allows more free-play for loss-recovery, etc.

It also means that the price has to retrace deeper to end cycle. However, your approach can also contain counter positions to tip the scale the other way.

Oh, your 3 buttons are also good solution to just-in-case human intervention requirement.

I have considered several solutions before I come across yours. Your methodology is the most elegant by far.

Just a curious question, if you have the time: for GTLIMITEURUSD2, you are trading the tail-end of NY to just before SYD? I know that's range time for the currency-pair, is there a reason why you did not consider a wider time range like say: Sg-time 1am to 2pm (just before LDN)?

I guess the haze is gone in Sinkie?

Yesterday and today are the clearest air day so far after the haze came in. I felt concerned abt 19 casualties during this haze, some are firefighters. Anywayyy...

I was, and the account is done, due to trending once during 7am - 2pm SGT. I didn't know what causing it, and never checked it. Even if it is news, what news? That time only was the cooling down time, night time at new york and midnight at europe. But the GTLIMITREBOOT, if you see on my profile, that is the one starting from 1am - 2pm, and still running. Scary I guess...
I kept GTLIMITREBOOT (Demo) on so I can observe time to time if in case it is trending (for me to get alerted).

I feel it still not the perfect solution, need improvement.
But I do hope in future for a simple improvement but having significant effect.
If you ask me to code/fix your EA... it's probably not for free...

Got a question for you sir..

Assume that I am running multiple instances of the EA using different set files on EURUSD.
Each set file has a different magic number.
Will each EA take into account the trades opened by that particular instance alone or will it take into account all EURUSD trades? I understand that the magic number is used to denote the trades opened by a particular instance of the EA. However, when it comes to TP etc., will this be applicable to all EURUSD trades or just the trades opened by that instance?

Hope you understand my question

Hi,
An EA will manage every orders relative to his magic number.
For example. I have 1 instance (MT4) with 2 open charts of EURUSD, each of them have attached the EA. The 2 EAs have a different set file and a different magic number. Each EA will manage only the own orders. Relative to his own set file if one of them will reach TP, SL or any other logic of closure for his own cycle it will close every order relative to itself and will start a new cycle, meanwhile the other EA on the other chart will continue with his cycle.
(visually I think is a mess because in the 2 different charts you will see all the orders relative to the instrument (EURUSD in this case) but the EA of every chart will manage only his own orders)

In other words, if you put 2 or more of the same EA but with different magic numbers, every one will work independently from the others.

Awesome.. thanks loads for confirming on how the trades would be managed! Have a small experiments starting off Monday so lets see how it goes

Hi Radityo, is there the possibility to introduce a "done for the day rule"?

For instance, I want to stop trading if the daily gain is 1.25% and I want to stop trading if the daily loss is 1%.

Then the expert will re-start tomorrow.

thanks for your answer. Did you mean it is not normal for the limit orders by using the EURUSD2? one more question, I am running the EA on H1 and My computer is a little slower for a few seconds, does this matter?

ok just to give you a feedback of my last demo spree


after a few weeks with 3 demos (grid:30-40-50) on 3 brokers (9 total) each setup with 4 X 2 (1 stop and 1 limit) majors (eurusd-gbpusd-usdjpy-audusd)

stop from the open of FRA until 1700 (GMT+1) and limit from 1700 until 2200 (GMT+1)

things started to be crazy with 2-4% daily returns...the thing is that slowly but steadily the balance was getting bigger but equity not.... and they all got blown up...

the worse was XM, after that was Roboforex and last was admiralmarkets


i had also another test with 3 setups on activtrades BUT having a 0800-2200 (GMT+1) continuous same as above setup (for both limit and stop orders).... the returns were ludicrous as much as the blown ups lol

returns of 10-30% daily.... but lasted less than two weeks... sadly


all of above of course on demos.... ;-)
