today, buy gu 1.548, 1.540, and hold shortly, target 1.562 (but maybe not reach) bearish is relatively still strong. a doji at the bottom brings us attention

IMHO, the GBPUSD struggles to break the ascending trend-channel. A sustained break of which can quickly call for 1.5370 and the 1.5250.

should fall further, but today i think it is impossible, tomorrow we have a Jackson Hole Symposium, I have no experience of its impact on the markets, but technically it will be a rocket to the market

Released yesterday, the US durable goods rose 2%, hence positively surprised the market expecting a 0.4% drop in July. Encouraging economic data gave another boost to the US dollar across the board, yet the expectations that the Fed will certainly refrain from hiking the federal fund rate remain very much subdued (less than 30% chance of a September increase). Fed Dudley’s speech has been a non-event as he avoided national economy and monetary policy in text. The market will continue seeking answers in economic data. The US 2Q (second read) GDP growth, personal consumption and core PCE will paint the economic picture as the Fed doves take over the market. US sovereigns price in less than 50% chance for a Fed rate hike in 2015.

Credit Agricole: ‘The BoE’s first rate increase since 2007 and an improving economic outlook in the UK makes sterling one of the ‘top picks’ among G10. […] We would be looking to buy the dollar and sterling, especially against the yen and the euro before long.’

BNP Paribas: ‘We have not changed our outlook for sterling. […] We are still firmly sterling bulls. We expect the Bank of England will start the monetary policy tightening cycle in February 2016.’



LCG: ‘Cable took a dive to 1.5451 pulling out our mid-term support. Trend and momentum indicators sharply reversed to negative with the 200d MA (1.5371) seen as the next key support, if breached could bring 1.5248 (Fib 50% on Apr-Jun recovery) and 1.5087 (Fib 61.8%) in radar.’

GBPUSD
Market price 1.5482
Expect correction above 1.5370.
Preferred case: bullish above 1.5370, correction expected to 1.5520 before 1.5590.
Alternative case: if 1.5370 broken, drop to 1.5250.

from my point of view. the 1st red still remains strong bearish, technically it has not yet finished going to the south where the price should be, on the other hand the 2rd is already finished yesterday.
