I've done some backtesting with this EA and pretty much all yearly tests end with a huge tumble after a steady climb. I managed to avoid the tumble by limiting the hours to the Tokyo session which is the quietest range you might have for your entries. I think this EA with a little manual intervention might be profitable for everybody.

I would like to ask if anyone can suggest a good and cheap/free (free better) vps.
I'm currently using the one from Amazon, is free but i don't like it too much...

About the EA, well, I'm testing it live since 21 of July and currently it's up almost 25%.
I'm using it only on eur/usd with stop orders, but like others here i'm testing to share the risk on multiple pairs like gbp/jpy. Will share the experience when i will have some days of testing... My only doubt is: how will affect slippage to this other pairs? The ones that don't have a deep liquidity...

Are you planning to run it over the NFP? I think that there is a big difference between real accounts and demos many people here are running due to slippage. I wonder what would happen during NFP on a real ECN account... Has anyone done this?

Hi, I have already posted my settings, btw,
Version 1.2 on eur/usd from London open -2 to New York open. 50 points grid with fixed lots and fixed take profit. Lots are 0.01 for every 300 in your balance (you can make more risky 0.02), take profit fixed in 3.5 PIPS (make the calculations based on your account currency and the pip value and then put the target)

Hi, I'm not going to let it run during NFP, I'm using ActivTrades (because I can't with Tickmill) and during normal period they don't have big slippage issues, but I prefer stay away from big red news...Don't want to discover...I think it can affect based on how many orders per side are active at the news moment, for example if you have 1 buy and 2 sell and the new move the price south no problem with slippage for new orders, it is on your side. Sorry for my english, I'm not native. Hope you get my point.

Back to my question, any suggestion for a good cheap/free vps?

I have been using http://trustsignup.net/ , the 18$/mo option for my vps. What I like is that its a windows 7, not server edition. Using it for a month+ now, no problems.

They offer a free trial period?
Like i said before i won't run the EA friday.
Try Amazon, they offer free VPS.

With a low latency VPS and good broker you can survive red news, but avoid the extreme ones like NFP... Slippage on those events are crazy, can be as much as 50 pips (500points), Grid will be very messy.

My plan for NFP is hit stop next on thursday afternoon and wait for EA closes in profit before big news.
If it doesn't i will check where price is in the grid... if price is the middle of grid with many orders fired i will let it run, the firsts spikes are the worse and as the orders close to price are already fired doesn't matter. If price is near new orders, probably the loss are little and i will take it to keep the account safe and start the EA on Monday.

most likely if you do backtest, you'll end up in that situation. The reason is that backtest is meant for the EA and indicator developer to test their functionalities. When I built the EA, it does helps a lot while I can keep continue my code during weekends when the market is closed.
It is not to test whether a strategy will do good or bad.

Disadvantages of backtest:
1. they don't simulate dynamic spreads (you always forced to set the spread from the dropdown)
2. they don't simulate real market conditions
3. sometimes you may have your backtest data incomplete (gaps between days/hours/minutes)
4. you need human intervention, since this EA is not meant to be run full automated. You need to avoid holidays, probably gaps during weekends, and maybe some major events

So, yes, manual interventions still be needed...
If you ask me to code/fix your EA... it's probably not for free...

v1.7 is not released yet, but I'm open if you want to use it. In 1.7, if your order fails to close, it will try to loop closing all orders again until all completely closed. Then, it will start new cycle.

Seems that GTLIMIT can't be ran fully on 01am to 3pm. You should stop it somewhere at 9am or 10am. I heard someone uses GTLIMIT changing only the lot size bigger, ran it on live for a week, and got 100% profit....
Will consider to add that feature.

How do I overcome the challenge where with 1.6, sometimes when recreating the cycle it doesn't create it properly - example the gap between the start point and new creation threshold becomes really big?

What is recommended VPS if i use Tickmill ECN Live trading from indonesia? As i try to check their IP yesterday use iplocation.net, it shows their live server is at hongkong (?) I wonder if tickmill has many server around the world to make closer connection to their customers. Is it where the VPS located matters?
