GBPUSD and EURGBP

Bloomberg strategists write ‘MPC-dated Sonia forwards price first full 25 basis points BoE rate rise for May 2016; odds priced for an increase in Feb 2016 down to 62% from 69% on Jul 20.’

JPMorgan: ‘The short term range action for GBP/USD continues to develop as the key parameters remain well-defined. Note the 1.5675 area will continue to act asimportant near term resistance, while a break of the 1.5450 zone would suggest the range is resolving bearishly.’

LCG: ‘GBPUSD trades within its monthly ascending triangle with solid resistance at 1.5675/1.5700 area following the failure to break above this July resistance. GBP has been, for the second consecutive week, the best G10 performer against the US dollar on BoE’s hawkish convergence with the Fed outlook. Key support remains at 1.5552/1.5530 (21d MA / Jul-8 to-date ascending base) before 1.5460 (Fib 61.8% retrace on Jul 8 – Jul 14 hike) for a re-test 1.5670/75 – monthly resistance and a possible bullish development toward 1.5880, Fib 50% on Jul’ 14 – Jul’ 15 sell-off. EURGBP reverts back to 0.70p mark. Only light option offers trail below, a breach below is not a straightforward signal for a bear market yet.’

yesterday's daily candle a doji...resolved by another sharp fall of Friday's present hi - the pullback hi after yesterday's fall...daily rising t/line just below the present lo (around 5525 on today's daily candle,,,daily S2 @ 5521) as bids around 5550 kick in. (38.2% 5328-5689/61.8% 5466-5689 and weekly pivot there too.) Further bids reported 5520/25 before 5500. 5509 is the 50% of the main recent 5328-5689 move up.

price will have to move north some now for the weekly candle body to bullishly engulf the previous one. Daily shows that present weekly hi where the area acted first as res then support then res x 4 again....speaking of sup/res price trapped between former 1hr swing lo at today's present lo and prev 1hr/minor 4hr swing lo - previous support that has acted as resistance on recovery attempt.
