yesterday i kinda stress cuz my tp hit but i dont know why price hit my tp (its kinda frustrating)
but thanks to you now it become clear , but seeing ur explanation... its going to be hard to do those , when i read some pdf about big picture planning i sure do that (start from MN look for inside bar , master candle , swings level ( most hard to find) and then go to lower time frame) the result i didnt see what you see
all i see is weekly high and recent resistence ( both provided by indicator ) , guess thats the diffrent between the experienced and inexperienced.

anyway today i took this trade
purely based on the tdi cross, recent break of the inside bar and use 10 ema as support level (although theres master candle, it seem price hardly break 1.11000 level so i took the risk and enter) since im nervous about my analyze i set 10 pip tp and it hit my tp
and the second trade when price break 10 ema and tdi still dont give exit trade , i place 20 pip tp and got hit

i think price going to touch weekly high and then goint to proceed to up trend

Hi Don,

you are learning fast. Remember having a consistent approach is very important. It is the beginning of a long trading journey for you and along the way, there will lots of distractions and you need to know how to deal with all the distractions. Remain focus on your own business objectives and financial goals no matter what other people say. There will be periods of poor performance and we suffer some losses and will be hurt when there is drawdown in our account. Learn to cut losses short, and let profits run. Take small manageable risks when we want to grow our trading account.

Something amusing and while the market is quiet now I thought I share this with you all.

Some of you may recall some traders started discussion in this thread on DOTS. There were also a few who asked for trade manager to manage the DOTS trade levels. Two of my trading buddies and I spent some time and work on an Expert Advisor for many weeks and finally last weekend we have the first running version so we started testing it in live market this week.
We took a few trades using the DOTS indicator today. Below is a trade example using the DOTS indicator levels and to trade. The EA took the Buy trade level but the exit was funny when we saw our chart later on.
It kept exiting the trade in small portions when market reach the TP1 level.
We ended up with lots of pips (150 pips) for a small move of about 20 pips from entry to TP1. But the risk was 1% and with position sizing.

Now we are back to look at the mq4 coding all over again. Having fun ....

Just a quick question here, how many of you are trading with the DOTS indicator? Please share some of your experience and we should be able to work together and finish the EA sooner.

thats good to see you have the same problems like me !
Normally im really happy with my broker some month ago I started watching how many pips from my " TP " gets my trades executed .
And exactly the same stuff happened.. all closed ( and opened as well ) some half pips or so away from entry or target point .

My apologies, I couldn't find the reading materials on ME/ME method. I vaguely remember you have shared that in this forum. I went back pages in this thread but couldn't find that over the weekend.

In one of your reply, you mentioned if the price retrace to Fibo 78% level, you will be prepared to cut loss, is this one of the way to distinguish if Plan A goes wrong? Is there any other ways you can share with us?


For example, GBPUSD has been consolidating for several days last week. After I have finished building initial entry position + 4 positions then I started to wait day by day and it retraced even more. it seemed to me that the price would eventually hit my technical SL (right under WRB ) but fortunately it went UP today. So, you mentioned sometimes you will cut loss quickly before it hits SL. But I don't have the third eye like you do how should I avoid less loss instead of 1% of my balance?

I have trouble finding time to watch the charts and never seem to remember at the beginning of each hour, what alert system do you use? I'm thinking of trying this to see if it helps me.

It can be done and I have shown you in the past months how trading with small %risk and using Multiple Entries / Multiple Exits in different market condition will work out over longer term trading.
TMS 5-Method is a trend following trading method which performs better when trading the higher timeframe and it work great when we add to it a proven money management strategy. Position sizing is one of the key to a winning trading system.

I get few PMs from members who asked what is a good trading account size to start with. There is no correct answer to this question. We need to ask ourselves what are we trading for. Forget about wanting to trade for a living. Some can do that and have made it, but many failed. The best way to start is to trade for a supplement income to what our day job. Start small with financial goal to supplement 10% of our annual income, then grow to 20% in small steps.
Let use an example; for someone with an annual salary of $100K and have saved up $100k to invest in a business, this is hard earned money so we treat that money with carefully when we invest. Use $50K of that hard earned for trading forex. Aim for 10% return every 20-trading days. This 10% maybe small and can be achieved with a proper trading business plan what I call a SMART objective. Why 20-trading days cycle? well there will be periods where you won't find good trades and may have some losses. Losses and drawdown is inherent in every trading system. We cannot avoid nor prevent that but we have to know how to recover from drawdowns. Like many businesses, this is forex trading business requires constant attention and development to keep up with market dynamics. Systems need maintenance and that is the fun part which requires our attention day in day out. You know you can grow that $50K slowly with tender loving care.
At the end of it all, you gain a lot of knowledge and experience which stay with you. You can shared them with other people, you can pass them down to future generations, but the knowledge and experience remains in you and nobody will ever take them away.

There is only one DOTS that I know.
It does not matter how many DOTS versions are out there because DOTS is for intraday trading and we look at recent days traded range and market volatility.
From back-testing I see it is a simple way to help traders look for buy/sell price levels and target profit level for exits. But we should avoid certain pairs when there is news release during the market session. This is the part where the trader must take into account and make decision.
If you have the DOTS indicator, look at the AUD pairs yesterday during the Sydney-Tokyo sessions. Many trades would have ended in losses.
