Thank you for your recent enquiry about Alpari (UK) Limited. As you may be aware, FSCS is a rescue fund, which deals with claims for compensation against UK Regulated Financial Services Providers where: • The firm is no longer trading, and • It is unable (or likely to be unable) to meet claims itself. This is usually because they do not have sufficient funds to meet claims. Alpari (UK) Limited entered the Special Administration Resolution regime on 19 January 2015. Richard Heis, Samantha Bewick and Mark Firmin of KPMG have been appointed Joint Special Administrators (JSAs). As explained in our website, www.fscs.org.uk, we are currently working with the JSAs to see if we can both work in a similar method of considering claims. I can confirm that we now have an agreed balance for your claim and that your account has been verified in line with money laundering regulation. You should therefore be on our next Alpari payment run, which we hope to make in the near future. If you have any further questions about the role of FSCS, please telephone us on +44 (0)20 7741 4100 or 0800 678 1100. Or e-mail us at [email protected].

=================================================

I got this email from FSCS days after I sent my question on FSCS website.
I am happy that I was on their next payment. But I am surprised that my account has been verified in line with money laundering regulation, which I never thought about. In fact, I am not quite sure what does "verified in line with money laundering regulation" mean...My English is not good enough.

FSCS has to do a thing called Know Your Customer (KYC) account verification. The money for a person must only be sent back to an account under the same name of the person to stop one entity from transferring dirty cash to another persons account to clean it during a withdrawal. It's standard account details verification and all financial institutions in the UK have to adhere to it. Even when doing a credit history check to open a new credit card in the UK you will see a anti-money laundering check on your credit history report, especially when large sums of money are involved.

It is standard procedure in the UK and is nothing to worry about.

Bloody hell, received an email from kpmg stating I need to upload docs to confirm beneficiary name.
I had already uploaded my bank statements and license to confirm this months ago.It further states if i don't
do this my claim wont be paid.So I login again to my claims portal and it says you claim
is agreed and i cant upload nothing. Everything is just messed up.Total chaos .Seems like amateurs are handling
our case or they are just increasing their contract time.

{quote} KPMG was authorised by FSCS to settle the claimed amount. If you remember they modified the claims portal and we had to re-confirm our amounts. Claims Portal as at 20 April 2014 Please note: these FAQs are specifically in relation to the Claims Portal new functionality which was released on 20 April 2014. The new functionality in the Claims Portal covers both claiming compensation from FSCS (if eligible and subject to agreeing to FSCS Payment Terms) and the option of having distributions from the Company or compensation from FSCS (together...

Let me explain what I mean in this way:

1.Alpari UK boosted
2.KPMG appointed by High Court
3.First confirmation of Agreed Balance on Claim Portal
4.Second confirmation of Agreed Balance on Claim Portal - Claim LEGALLY assigned to FSCS
5.(I assume,is the same date as point 4) FSCS received and starts processing the claim (at least formally)
6.Process finished,Claim confirmed and payment agreed by FSCS
7.FSCS payment

I do believe points 5 and 6 exist, cannot believe, that FSCS it can be used as a Cash Maschine only by KPMG,as FSCS is having its own rules as well have to go through certain steps (FCA handbook).
What I'm saying is the 3 months (or 6) time limit in FCA handbook is for time frame between point 6 and 7.
What interesting is the limit of the time gap between points 5and 6 (that's were we are now ) as FCA handbook is not mentioning it.

YEAY - Got paid in lovely Dollars straight in to my USD account.

For those who've spent the last few months slagging off the FSCS - eat your words - and be grateful that they're there to pick up the pieces on your behalf and at no cost to you.

Over and out !

Good for all of you who got your money back. Congrats!!!

In this case, I think it might be the incompetent KPMG who's delaying the process because FSCS is still working with KPMG to recover the money. I think once FSCS recovered the money from KPMG, they promptly sent out the payments. You never know.
