Hi, I am new here.

I was wondering, if I create an entry late Friday would it still be triggered during the weekend or during the open on late Sunday or early Monday, or would it be skipped due to gapping? Sometimes I notice gaps but other times there is a continuous candlestick.
Does the same apply with futures?

It's gonna be triggered when market is open & price is were your order is, depending on order type.
If market gaps up say 200 pips.. and you have a buy stop somewhere in the gap area..then you gonna be filled where the market opens, based on the liquidity as your order has certain position and previous orders gets filled first. So, if you have a buy order say 20 pips above the market & let say it's gonna be the market close price. Then 200pips gap up on Sun, fills you some 180pips+ higher then you wanted.

I see, so these gaps, are they applied equally throughout brokers?
