I've been curious what price movements are random and what are driven by market manipulation.
I surrendered my EURNZD shorts after more than 1,500 pips drawdown. Couldn't had believed that would happen, as I thought my entry price was reasonable.
GBPNZD is even worst, there are traders that held out at more than 3,000 pips drawdown, some accounts busted, of course.
This recent EURUSD swings are no big deal in comparison, ummm... so far.
I hope to find a strategy that avoids being slaughtered by market manipulators in 'any' market conditions.

maybe if you work in a hedge fund, you will know, other way it is impossible to predict when this will happen xD

dont forget also that movement in EURCHF in january 15 ;D!

Hey, I know this is off-topic, but I think it's a pretty simple question. As I've mentioned in earlier comments, my broker just dumped the trading platform I had been using, and so now I'm having to learn MetaTrader 4. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I had never used it before. One issue I'm having is that it displays things in "points" rather than pips. While I realize a point is just 1/10 of a pip, and it's easy enough to calculate, it just bugs me. I'd REALLY like it to display in pips and fractions of pips, rather than points. But even when I asked a customer service rep, he said he knew of no way to change that. Can that be right? Seems VERY bizarre to me.

Right click at profit column then select as deposit currency instead of point

i prefer to use the word random to express something which is almost impossible to predict. on the other side, in reality nothing is random, we just lack enough information/data to calculate the outcome. had we had all the information about the orders and any intentions of all players and had a system and a tool to calculate, there would not be anything random or chaotic.
market manipulation happens when there is a game changing fact/news/statement/release etc. is being expected and big money just plays it to position itself better before the fact is announced. other times it is just a game of order filling, which is pretty much unpredictable but still tradeable. but when there is a manipulation, most of the the time it kills the both sides only lucky few comes out winners and some of them are disillusioned thinking their reasoning was correct to take that specific trade.

It's not like if say someone who has $1000 US dollars can go to Lebanon and get 1000 x 1500= 1,500,000 LBP and with that amount he can buy 10 houses and 15 cars and a few shops, that 1500 000 will last you 5 days for just hotel and eating out, so it's all the same, makes no difference.

Hmmm... thanks, but when I do that on mine, it just changes it to dollar value (not pips). Also, in the measuring device (not sure what it's called, but when you click your scroll button you get crosshairs so you can measure distances on the chart) it displays distance in those stupid points (like 7.3 pips shows as "73").
