hello, i am new here.. i already setting my EA with initial lots 0.01, but my ea run with initial 0.03. can someone explain this ? my demo acct starting with 500$. second question, is it good if this EA running on currency with high ADR ? e.g GBPJPY / EURJPY, cause i think the spread is same with GU. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii288/bivt/setting%201.png thanks regard

You can't simply say if the spreads are same, it will apply the same.
GBP/USD and EUR/USD tend to have "almost" the same characteristics. But when you apply it to GBP/JPY, or moreover EUR/JPY, it is totally different.
GBP/JPY also tend to have the same characteristics with EUR/JPY.
XAU/USD though it is gold versus USD, it has different characteristics with EUR/USD.
GBP/NZD tend to have different characteristics with GBP/USD, so it is not applicable and you have to find the best settings for it. But once you find it, it should applicable also to GBP/AUD.

But anyway, that's just my opinion. I was observing this thing around 3 years duration when I was still learning how to open and close trades.

I'm eager to try this on live cent account with minimized settings. FxOpen has ECN-like cent account. Just wondering, what ping speed should I look for?
Right now I have 125ms to FxOpen, but I have 33ms to Tickmill and 57ms to Pepperstone. Too bad Tickmill doesn't have cent accounts.

{quote} I'm testing the settings posted from andres and it looks promising. Shorts cylces with small target, to stay in the grid less time possible. 0.3 lots for 10 $ target. My demo account is growing... I would like to ask what settings suggest to start with a 500 $ account. I'm trading from London Open to New York close, avoiding red news, what is the scenario that could blow up the account? Would this work in real?

Hi chucrut, yes my goal is to stay in trade as short time as possible. I think we should make more tests before real. How to avoid get stucked in a grid for hours ? I do not know yet.

hey chucrut and andres am i doing something wrong? using the andres settings v2 stop orders, i only have £18 profit booked and £300 open drawdown. £1000 account. is the £10 profit target means that trades are closed as a basket? i'm getting individual trade closures it seems.

if you could upload a set file would be great

Stuck in grid for hours is the best situation I guess. My test telling me that worse situation is stuck for days, or worst blow a account.

1. Yes, no use. 2. Yes, try it. Time is also important factor that people sometimes missed. 3. As I have informed before, live account settings is same as demo account, reduce by half at the maximum. Or to be safe, by quarter or less. I had tried it on live account sometime back. Going to try it some other time.

Hei guys.... thanks for your support to testing it. I forgot to tell 1 important thing for GT500. It it using Exchange account (probably ECN) which actually it is 0.0 spread with commission. So, you guys need to select profit calculaction mode without commission and swap.
Ignored

Okay Radityo,
I will try GT500 on volatile market only, instead of 24hours on, also with profit calculaction mode without commission and swap.

and I Got 3 other questions:

1. Even on ECN account I think there's no 0.0 spread (very rare)?and the standard account with 2pips fixed (no commision) on EURUSD also have swap...
so why not let it to "with commision and swap"?I mean.. on standard account it calculate the swap but with 0 commision, and on ECN it calculate both commission and swap too.. what's the difference? what the benefit to change it to "without commission and swap" if we got 0 commission and swap too..

2. My friend want to try 500$ on live, so I will use GT790 with "close if no order opened" setting.
Just wondering better use ECN (low floating spread with commision, or standard account fixed 2pips spread EURUSD)?

3. What's the update of your live account from post#1 now?did you stop it?

thank you Radityo!!

0.3 lots with target 10$. Yes, closed like a basket, when the sum of all trades reachs 10$ it close all and start new cycle.
In my set files the time is set to start the cycles 2 hours before London and stop enter new ones 1 hour before New York close.
I think if we use a system like this we have to accept big DD. Just set and forget hoping the market shakes and closes cycles.
I'm testing those settings since few days only and biggest DD was -200 stuck in the grid for some hours (it happened just 1 time, most times the cycle get over quickly). The best thing we could do is costant withdrawals knowing that our account could blow up...

thanks, just cross checked your settings and they are exactly the same as mine

mine was stuck in the grid for about 24 hours, max negative was about -£350, but now grid has closed for profit. seems very risky testing these even on a £1000 account

we'll see what happens going forward

I think for 1000 account you could cut the settings. 0.15 lots for 5$ profit and going improving when account grows.

Another idea could be put the grid when/where we know the price could move. Like S/R or OB/OS areas, we don't care about the direction, just that the price has to move. Not have it cycling all over the time...
Any suggestions?
