You only hear from them when a payment is imminent I think. Those who chose FSCS and were paid received an email regarding that payment but nothing before that.

I say yes they need to know which category we are first after deciding ETX and proving identity bank acct info and agree to all legal terms. They move us to different dept after verify forms with everyone that needs to have pmt issued and it shows in portal.
This is how I pictured it has worked?
Clients of Alpari will be able to confirm whether they wish to make a claim with FSCS via the Alpari claims portal.
Where the client is a single private investor, the client will be able to agree to FSCS’s payment and assignment terms alongside the process of agreeing their claim with the joint special administrators. Once confirmed, and once the joint special administrators have agreed the amount due to the client, the FSCS will make a compensation payment direct to the client’s nominated bank account or directly to their ETX Capital account if the client so chooses. In these cases, the client will not be required to complete any further FSCS paperwork.
If the client is an entity such as a company or trust, or is a joint investor, and the claim is agreed by the joint special administrator the client will be asked to complete an FSCS application form. The account holder(s) should then sign the completed form and return it along with any documentation that is relevant to the claim.

If it is true what you say about your account then do not pay attention to the email.
If they say you own them money due to open positions let them produce the proof /statement.

I will await; but it is very concerning that they are chasing fictitious money and 'creating' outstanding debts owed to them. Though it is no surprise.
If I have received an email when I have not made a trade in 5 years there must be others in the same boat.
