Was going to wait this one out. Asian session volatility is so low, nothing happening before NFP. All trades now closed. I'm not sure if I want to be patient for NFP

.....and then comes the sting, MMs manipulating price way down the price queue. Big player orders down lower and lots of longs to stop hunt for liquidity while going down there?

Hey guys, happy good friday.
All these pairs are seen hitting strong resistance area with relatively high volume.
Is this a sign of bearish along with the coming news for XXXUSD, and bullish for USDJPY?

As I was already sugesting, you should start new thread (your own- finaly you are like a kind of new member), I noticed this one became too big for newcomers ( and harder to notice). This does not mean you can not refer to this one (and point to it for the ones interested).

IMO starting from new perspective here would make Sonic R another in line of systems where ingridients are changed every once in a while (and therefor question it).

And it should be moved to the Trading systems, where it belongs..

Don't knock yourself out if the market's NFP moves were not according to your analysis. All analysis is predicated on history, which has never been good measure of what the MMs might do with price in the near term future. What we have just witnessed is pure price manipulation by the MMs for profit by moving price to fill big player orders, and of course their own orders.

The MMs know if new orders worth going after have been placed at historically popular price levels, both above and below the current price range. And only they know if they have decided to go after filling them, and in which order they are going to move price to do that. This is not something that any indicator or any amount of study of price history can divine.

The "NFP" high impact release on the first Friday of every month is typically the most significant of the regularly scheduled releases. Frankly, I think it is a good idea to never trade high impact releases. Close trades before they arrive. Wait for the dust to settle, maybe in an hour or so, or a day or so, and then resume trading. Why? There is nothing that will predict how the MMs will manipulate price next, and the MMs are at their best at price manipulations when it comes to high impact releases. That is why they are called "High Impact"!

Whatever your "game plan" has been, just relax - lick any wounds - and resume next week. Stuff like this does not invalidate methods. It just points to the fact of life in the market,......that the MMs are thieves and they save up for times when there is grand thieving to be done,.....times when big players have placed their orders to close positions they previously opened, and/or open new ones. This calls the MMs to move the price. Sometimes they hold off the move, or moves, to allow more money to come into the market so there will be more liquidity- more money of others to steal - when the time comes.

How the Market Works

Using USDJPY as an example, we can see just how the market works. This is another way of saying that we can see the important role the price manipulating MMs have in how prices move in the market.

H4 shows lots of up/down activity this week above the 119.50 half Level. Reading the tea leaves after drinking the tea we might conclude all that up/down price action was in part due to the MMs manipulating price up and down so they could get liquidity to fill big player orders to close the longs obtained previously below the 119.00 key Level, and then open shorts for another move back down to that same area. Of course, the MMs saved that move back down for the "NFP" release.

M1 shows the lead-in to the move down, the whip sawing of price to suck in more longs and stop hunt shorts so the MMs could build their own short position for the move down. We can clearly see a lot more volume after the move breached the 119.00 Level again; time for the MMs to close the big players shorts, and their own too, of course.

Will the big players have already also placed oders to go long again? We cannot know. They might be exiting the market for the weekend and holding off any decisions other than that until next week. Whatever is going on now below 119.00 it does not currently look good for more immediately occurring bearish moves. Bullish is more likely, even if only as a retrace move. But even that is not likely until next week.

Prognosis? Price stagnation until next week gets us all back into the swing of things.

It is not that the Sonic R. System changes, but that I am exploring new analysis possibilities apart from the Sonic R. System setup and trade. I did this before. PVSRA was the result, and one that could be used in support of the Sonic R. System wherein traders have always needed to develop an understanding of - a "feel" for - price action at SR (and with a little bit of volume) to help them qualify setups,.....so they would not enter a setup breakout only to find PA halted too short of a ways further on, at some key SR level!

Now I am exploring this further, looking at the possibility of qualifying an entry after price attains a key level and demonstrates a lot of activity there. The difference here - the refinement - is that only very key levels will qualify for consideration, and of course only after price attains one and demonstrates sufficient activity there. The presumption would be for the price to exit that area by going back in the direction it came from. However, an overview of charts should alert to the possibility price might continue in the same direction. Therefore, and in a conservative manner, an exit in either direction from ranging might qualify an entry, even though the Sonic R. System Dragon might not have caught up with "over-active" price action.

A Essential Aspect of Trading

Dear Guys and Gals,

I received the following PM concerning an essential aspect of trading; important enough to include it here so you can read about the concern and think on it yourselves.

Dear TAH!

I know it is small TF, but for the last 2 weeks I was watching PA on different Instruments for 14h a day (using Sonic R). I noticed, that by the time the Dragon crosses the Trend and PA is above both (or below), the PA escapes so much from both, that when the set-up is right to enter, you would have to place too big SL for much smaller TP. Maybe my perception is wrong, but for now, this was my result ( and a problem, but maybe there was no strong trend and that was the reason).

Is this the reason for PVSRA? Do you see the room for improvement here?

Anyway, thx for everything, although still much to learn, I learned much more in last month about trading in general from Sonic R, that last 2 years on many different websites, articles etc..


Here is my thinking on it.......

The point of waiting for proper "stacking" is to assure as much as is possible that there is good momentum to carry the trade to reasonable profit. For example a long setup would have the Trend with some angle up, or starting to angle up, would have the Dragon well angled up and above the Trend, and would have price action above the Dragon, hence the "stacking". We are focusing on proper stacking and angles of the Trend and Dragon. The concern stated in the PM is - due to the angles involved - for a long setup, a SL placed below the Dragon or Trend can be a lot of pips away from the entry price.

The question becomes one not about PVSRA, but about where to place a SL. There is no rule about placing a SL relative to either the Dragon or the Trend. There has been the stated convention of placing a SL relative to the PA wave involved; just beyond (opposite direction of trade direction) the start of Leg #1 or Leg #2 of the PA wave. I have included a picture to illustrate this wherein the SL setting range is highlighted in yellow and the average pips below the horizontal red entry line is shown. Every trader must make their own decision if and where to set a pending order SL, or if to do so only mentally so they can constantly assess PA and make their own decision as to if and where to close the trade.

PVSRA is a method of analysis designed to highlight some different things: notable activity in areas of key SR (the most important), when the MMs are pushing the price (don't get caught opposite these pushes), and overall if the notable activities are occurring at the highs or the lows of the various cycles in the PA (gives an indication of where the MMs are doing most of their order filling).

Can PVSRA be improved? There is a fine line between using PVSRA as a method of analysis only, and as an entry trigger. We cannot know how the MMs will move price next. So, when folks use PVSRA as a trigger to enter a trade, and then wait for the profit while the MMs don't subsequently move price as anticipated, then comes the time when these folks question PVSRA. Can it be improved? Does it need to be? Or does it do what it does just fine, and folks should use it for what it was intended to be used? Consider this. The MMs make up their minds about whether to move price up or down first, when going after pending orders that need filling. Nobody and no indicator can tell us what the MMs will do with price next, not with any credibility anyway. PVSRA reveals clues as to the overall intent of the MMs, but it will not tell us where price is going next! Nothing will!

This thread was started with two important statements, one of which remains in Post #1: "Why should I sell what I can use to make money myself." and "Sharing is caring." My participation began with sonicdeejay inviting me to join back in December 2008. I did so to continue developing and to share, but by the adoption of a single trading method instead of bouncing all over FF. Sonicdeejay is the thread creator. I am just a participant. I do consider myself to be like the old, retired and unpaid gardener that maintains the estate in the absence of the owner. I shall strive to do my best to uphold the teaching and the encouragement of others that come here, and the posting etiquette that has been adopted to further these two objectives. My understanding was that commercialization would never become an intent. If at some time I cannot in clear conscience continue to contribute to a body of work that others are using to promote their own commercial endeavors, I will leave and probably will start a new thread. Meanwhile, I shall continue and shall strive with additional experimentation for further improvements.

HI all sorry for the off-topic post, but after reading for a year now I have not seen the questions addressed.
I've been using Bootcamp on a Mac for over a year now with no problems, but Ive upgraded machines and was hoping to run "Crossover" to run MT4 on the new machine.
I got MT4 to run flawlessly, but I cannot figure out where/ how to load these amazing indicators and template TAH and others worked on and provided us.

Any help would be great.

waiting for your new thread. I do regard the focus on price action and volume at key level is more advantage.
