I went long GBPUSD, the only one that looks safe to me, of course these are just paper trades. I like using the 9SMA with the Sidus Moving Averages; seems to give an early indication for the big moves. Still deceiding how much it might help.

I want to state that unless you are a news trader you should stay out of the market when there is big news such as today!!! It is just as risky as going to Vegas with your trading account!

ANYWAY.... I'm looking forward to the 1 hr indicator because I know that system works! Is it possible to have this indicator monitor higher time frames such as the weekly and 4hr... Then take trades only in the direction as the major trend from the 1 hr chart?

I traded it: got ready in advance and then when the data came in I followed up the whole 1 min bar. That was easy beautiful and simple! But that's not what I want to talk about.
Regarding RSI. It is not enough to know that RSI is above 50. And this is a real problem. We want to credit the MAs cross only when RSI of the bar before the previous bar was less than 50, then when the previous bar was closed, we want to know that is above 50, and only then we want to trade the cross. In other words, we wanna have a numeric RSI value from the previous bar and the current bar and compare them. I am not a MQL4 programmer, (programmer, though), this is a new language to me, but trying to make EA for Sidus method, I bumped into this problem and while not having enough experience with MQL4 (and having a full time job), until now I didn't solve the problem. But at least, I know where the problem is! Otherwise you don't want to jump into a trade when the price has exhausted itself and RSI is above 70 or somewhere in the middle between 50 and 80.
If that could be done, all of us will be just fine.

I follow this thread from the very begining ang love the system. Thanks a lot to all of you.

There is something I want to point out regarding two posts of Renasdad ( 630, 631) with the files attached. No offence
I think there is no false signals on the charts. What we see with red arrows is not a signals at all because (remember Sidus main document?) the tunnel has to be narrow and look like one line or cross.

I think it's important detail to pay attention to.

Trades that could have been taken for usdchf. Note, the RED arrows that signaled a buy, those would have not gotten much at all. It would have been a fake signal. Notice where RSI was most of the time. It was above the 50. The best thing to do would only be the "50 Bounce" or when price RSI dips below 50 and climbs above again. With any one of those trades, a 15 pip SL would have never been hit.

That is a very good point with the 18/28 tunnel becoming narrow. I guess, that is something I don't even pay attention to. I have dropped those 2 EMAs off the charts. And the reason is because I have been trading off the 30 minute charts. I am switching to 1 hr charts as well as a few others here. Those two EMAs should be something to bring back now. Thank you for bringing that up.

Hi Hafiz,

Copy the EA into the expert folder of your MT4. When done, exit the MT4 program, then restart. Click navigator in the top right of your platform. Look for expert, then click the EA. Activate it by clicking the Expert advisor's button mid top of your platform.

The more I look at post 630, the more I think about it, this is a false signal. I thought when the 2 EMAs cross, that was a new trend. Once the 2 fast EMAs crosses the slower ones, it confirmed the trend. That was followed by the 2 slow EMAs crossing. Am I remembering this right? Cause it I am not remembering right, then when the slower EMAs are on a down trend like they are on post 630, then we wouldn't even consider taking long trades until the slower EMAs cross and start to go up. If we wait for the slower EMAs to cross before taking any long trades, then no this isn't a false signal. It wouldn't even be considered at all.

I hope this can be discussed further. As you notice, on that last few charts I have posted, the 18 and 28 EMAs are off my charts. It would be nice to discuss this with everyone and see what they think about it.

I have eight currencies that I watch while playing this market. It appears that at the exact same time last night all of these markets moved in perfect unison.

1.) EUR/USD 80 Pips
2.) USD/CAD 59 Pips
3.) USD/CHF 70 PIPS
4.) EUR/JPY 25 Pips
5.) GBP/USD 62 Pips
6.) USD/JPY 58 Pips
7.) AUD/USD 71 Pips
8.) EUR/GBP 23 Pips

448 Pips so far (at 0700 est)

I got out of 4 currencies and still trading the remaining 4. With a very active Friday, slow Sunday and a somewhat dull Monday, I had a feeling that corrections were about to be made.

All of the above markets started to show signs of reversals and I jumped out at 0700 EST. I am watching out for the US Oil Report News that will make a difference in movement one way or another.

To answer your question, I started off a few years ago with one currency pair, the EUR/USD uding a demo account. I concentrated on this pair and made myself understand what makes it tick, the time frames it moved, played with technicals and fundamentals, best days to trade, and other mind boggling pieces of the overall forex puzzle. Thanks to Peter Bain and ForexInterBank's outstanding courses, I felt like taking the plunge and started trading.

I did very well with trading the EUR/USD pair in live account. I then watched how the EUR/USD moved with other currency pairs. When I found similar moving patterns, I then traded it at the same time with other currencies. After I felt comfortable with trading two currencies, I moved onto three, then to four pairs. I was then averaging about 150-200 pips a day.

After watching this thread and noticed how successful this method was, I then charted the most popular currency pairs and noticed how they reacted to this method using historical research. The listed currencies on my previous post reacted nicely to the sidus system.

I usually trade three to four currencies but last night was an exception. When all eight reacted at the same time, I had to jump in all of them. It took a lot of concentration...but paid off nicely. At 0700 EST, I jumped out of all with exception to the EUR/JPY, GBP/USD, AUD/USD and the EUR/USD which are still moving in the same direction. I added about 55 more pips since my last entry log 2 hours ago.

I only trade the currencies and have no other employment. I know this is an unfair advantage since most traders have another job they rely on for income. If I can offer a suggestion, please take the sidus system seriously, it is the best I have ever come across. When I trade, I feel like I won the lottery every single day.

I knew that with today's technology capabilities, someone would come up with a system that would make our trading a lot easier, and in my opinion, this is it. Of course, it will be tweaked by the outstanding members of this thread and it will be even better.

Below are the currencies I scan for trading potential.

1.) EUR/USD
2.) USD/CAD
3.) USD/CHF
4.) EUR/JPY
5.) GBP/USD
6.) USD/JPY
7.) AUD/USD
8.) EUR/GBP

I have been tryin to keep up with this thread as best as i can. anyways here is my question.

I am curious to know how many trades per day with one currency pair does one using the sidus method participate in?

and also

How many hours does one log in one day trading?

I know that some people watch the market 24/5, but im trying to diagnose my problem with the sidus method.

I am very new BTW. Coming up will be my 2 month anniversaire.

Would you be willing to explain your money management on multiple positions such as this? Are you "all in" or do you scale in? I've worked with MA systems for about a year - a derivation of the Sidus method and had way too much difficulty with the whipsaw. After reading this thread I almost felt born again.... but not quite. Anything further you can share on your method of determining a highly probable entry would be appreciated.

Hi... I am using the 5/12 EMA's method with 144/169 EMA's. On my lower section, I so something different, along with RSI 21, I have 5/12 EMA's on top of my RSI 21. Anotherwords, I have 5/12 EMA's on my upper and lower sections of my charts.

I attempted to attach my chart and got an upload message that my file it too large. I use pink and green for my 5/12 since I use black background and it is easier to see. If you PM me, and give me your email address, I will email you my chart to view. This is the AUD/USD chart which goes back 9 days and it is marked with the movements attributed to the 5/12 system.

One thing I also do is to know the daily average range of each currency pair from high to low and gauge the movement potential for that 24 hour period. This is one important factor that should be considered when trading. For example, the daily average range for the EUR/USD is 120 pips... and within the last 24 hours, it has moved 110 pips, so I expect it to slow down at this point. I captured 108 and jumped out since last post an hour ago.

I hope that this helps and maybe a little more. Get familiar with each currency daily average range potential and look at other charts to see if you understand what I mean.

Within the past 7 days, the following currency pairs had the listed opportunites to trade.....

EUR/GBP 1 Opportunity
EUR/USD 4 Opportunities
USD/CAD 4 Opportunities
EUR/CHF 3 Opportunities
EUR/JPY 4 Opportunities
GBP/USD 3 Opportunities
USD/JPY 4 Opportunities
AUD/USD 4 Opportunities

As far as how many hours does one trade, that depends on the trader. Personally, I am always near my system and I use trailing stops in case I am away from the computer. The best times to trade are usually at the London Market opening and the US Market openings.

On average, each currency has an opportunity to move every 1.5 days using the sidus method, old and new. If you PM me and send me your email address, I will send you my charts to look at.

I use both 30 minute and hourly charts. Unfortunately, I use FXSOL for my brokerage and they said that they plan to implement a 4 hour chart which is popular with some traders. Personally, the 30 minute and hourly charts work fine with me.

I sent you my charts and hopefully you will like them. they are the simeple 5/12 charts with 144/169 EMA's on the upper charts and 5/12 EMA's on the upper chart and also on the lower chart covering my RSI 21. It is that simple.
No fibs and no pivot points. As simple as can be for me. I just keep in mind the average daily ranges for each currency pairs which show me the potential high and lows within each 24 hour period.

It's all about momentum over the short to medium term. Lower ema's produce momentum signals that give trading signals that are to short-term to trade profitably. In other words, the dreaded whip-saw. It may go in your direction for 3 minutes and 6 pips, then it rolls over and crushes you. Higher ema's produce momentum signals that are to long-term. In a trending currency market retracements are where you can re-establish profitable positions. They stop very close, if not exactly on the 144 and 169 1 hour ema; the tunnel.

I see. So you have incorporated the vegas 1 hr tunnel method into yr system. I thought you might use it in some different way which can be very interesting....

P.s. - instead of using 12 ema, try 12 lwma, it gives signals slightly earlier...
