I think, that you can get nearly every thing to work, when you obey your on set rules. So HEW may function.

I have tried it out for some time. It did not work for me. Maybe I did not try hard enough.


My critique on HEW:

Ian deals with so much fib-levels and additional his evidence based levels, that the chart is full of it. Chance gets really high, that one of this levels is hit eventually to the pip.But one can not say beforehand which will be hit and causes the price to reverse.

OK, with the traditional EW we face the same problem, we do not necessarily know on what Fib-level price will turn.

But when you look at some counts from Ian, you will frequently notice, that the deliberate search of the right fib-levels very often leads to super-tiny wave 2 rejections, or alternatively wave 4 rejections.

My point is: when your count needs the "white noise" in order to get fitting fib- or evidence based levels, something is wrong.

Ian oftentimes ridicules the traditional EW for dealing with wave extensions etc. But he has replaced some topics he did not like in traditional EW with other enemies, in my view.

Also I have also issues with his concept, that the impulses consist out of 5 waves (1,2,3,4,5), but that each impulsive subwave wave consists out of 3 waves (a-b-c or impulse-correction-impulse or 5-3-5). I think one can not have both ways, because out of my view will result in break of fractal-nature (or logic).

Maybe I am wrong here. So would be nice when someone can enlighten me. Ian was not able to refute my view here. We need a mathematician here!!!


Also, Ian is quick in ridiculing traditional EW and saying, that HEW is superior. Up to date I have not seen this to make it a valid point. On mid December Ian called for a correction in UDX, when it was at 88.50. He thought about a wave 4 target @ below of 70. I think the same day the UDX got wings.

I am not to say, that such calls do not happen with traditional EW. For example, I closed all my remaining long time shorts in the 2375 area, and thought about a correction higher.

What I am saying is, I simply do not see the advantage and superiority of HEW over traditional EW


In fact, I think, that you can take Dow Theories ABC-moves and make a very profitable system out of it

Yes, that is the other thing I forgot, not wanting to show off ... since a lot on FF is ego attached, it is sometimes easier to erase the lots, that is a fact.

decided to exit the trade, to risky leaving it over the week end. it it goes up 100 pips till monday my account manager will never let me hear the end of it, lol. i have to say it's been a few weeks since i opened my account and he never told me what to do so clearly before today. got 15 pips after their 3 pip spread and 1pip for general principle i guess, hehe. wasn't really a great entry when you see the amazing lows. if i get another chance to enter long at the 1.1800 range or bellow i will probably re enter with the smallest position size.

I could probably ramble on for hours about this one but I think for me the most crucial & telling event from today is when price pulled up short of yesterdays low of 1753. If the bounce had occurred AT yesterdays low there's no way I'm taking any longs on this news because I know it wants more. From there it's just about waiting for a pause & finding some structure on a lower TF to hide my stop under. I also remember being very cognizant regarding the time. 9:30 NY open & boooya.
