Since I started trading, I always have stoc on (others have RSI) to avoid me buying at overbought, selling at oversold. I also look at it for div and hidden div. Recently I noticed LW setting it to 11,3,3, I found it benefit for scalper on M5 M15 as it helps to stay in my trades longer if stoc still crawling at overbought and I was in a long, or visa versa for short.

Hope it makes sense & and wish that seniors correct me or add more in if I m not correct or miss any point.

I promised to show you the nrIB4 and how that can be used to trade with TMS.
You all know by now that I view inside bars as consolidation and that is exactly what Big E taught us in his post#261 to look for consolidation and where the price action is near to support and resistance.
What Big E did not use is the TDI Volatility Band VB when he traded H4. During his days in the Craig Harris Stochastics Method thread where his 5-Method started, he traded M15 and H1 with the full TDI. Then he move to H4 trading and was more agrressive the way he scalp the H4 TDI crosses and exit when the TDI goes flat. He had his Entry and Exit strategy purely based on using H4 TDI Green Red lines.

Here is a good H1 example with those narrow ranged Inside Bars... aka nrIB4. The inside bar must the smallest of four bars (including itself) hence the name narrow ranged IB4.

Note that the IB of the Master candle is also a nrIB4 in most cases. There is a proven and tested theory since 1950's.

yes, I traded stock since 1980s and back then we did not have online retail trading.
we have to plot our own charts on paper and calculate the RSI and the moving averages using the D charts only. That is EOD trading.
today we have fast computers and software to calculate the TDI using the RSI data.

you can use the RSI in any trading platform and create your own Fozzy-RSI aka TDI using the RSI data in your trading platform not necessary to by bound by using MT4.

Trading stocks has one advantage when we see the real contract volume in the centralized exchange. You can see the accumulation and distribution, and you can trade with those added information with the RSI and using a proven method like the Darvas Box method. The Master Candle I use is a cousin of the Darvas Box theory which has been time tested and proven since 1950. It is a simple trend trading method. The setup candle is the one which breaks the Darvas Box high or low.
Google 'Darvas Box' and you will find plenty of information and how you can trade on D charts.

hi Likica,

Stochastics and RSI show the same what the price above does. I also started many years ago using MACD, Stoch, RSI and MAs, those were the Cowabunga system days. I dropped each of them and now rely soley on the RSI data to for price strenght and momentum.
With more experience, Stoch become another nice to have filter on our charts.
New traders to TMS are encouraged to use the Stoch (8,3,3) as confirmation tool the way Big E used that after he tested more than 2 years.

This week alone I received several PMs regarding the CaveManager CM parameters to set and how to use, etc.
I am afraid there is no generic answers to all. I will prepare some simple notes to supplement the CM parameters pdf and hope that can help many of you here.
My experience is limited to those currency pairs ( the USD and JPY majors and EUR and GBP crosses) which I trade frequently.

You need to know what your money management strategy and how you mitigate your trade risks.
Then you define your Exit Strategy. With the conbination of these and realtime chart factors, you will setup the CM parameters accordingly. Different currency pairs have different volatility in different periods / market sessions. You need to decide if you trade with Single Entry / Single Exit SE/SE or Multiple Entries / Multiple Exits ME/ME or Single Entry/Multiple Exits SE/ME. Using multi-Lots trading also has certain benefits. CM features are there but you have to decide on your Exit Strategy and use the CM features to manage your trades and save you from being glued to your monitor. It is simple yet can be complicated.
It is not that straight forward to have one set of parameters as default and use the same for all currency pairs.

Keep your PMs coming with all your questions, and that will help me to cover as many aspects of CM as possible to help more people here in this TMS thread.

Post your trades charts here. This way, many experienced traders will revie and share their post-mortem of your trades and others will also benefit from yours and their sharing.
Trading is all about Entries and Exits.

Losing trades can be due to different reasons, just to name a few common ones:-
1) Bad timed entries, but following the higher timeframe as dominant trend,
2) Wrong entries against dominant trend,
3) Exit strategy not suitable for market type and prevailing market condition seen on charts and for example - initial SL, trailing stops, scaling out factor, jumping stops, target TP factors, etc.
4) Money management
5) Risk Management
...

I have read a compiled TMS setup you made a while ago, and this NRIB4 was in the pdf, didnt totally got it, this chart made it clear tho, thanks a lot

what it feels like? feels great. got my confidence back and more. feels like i can walk on air until the next time i take that "perfect" setup which turn sour because of one reason or another and go binge and lost quite a bit. rinse repeat a few time, and it feels like...just any other day on one exception. that is when i woke up and see that i'm on green, no matter if its 10 or 100 pips. that "HAH! it's gonna be a good day" feeling. Least that's what it feels like now.

Hi TSS,

only 2 days left to go ....
After last night's FOMC shake out, give the market time to settle down. Today is the last two trading days for this week 44 and also the last two trading days of this October month. I just had quick look at the Monthly charts candles and also the Weekly charts candles.
We are trading the shadows / wicks of the MN candles and also most Weekly candles shadows. I don't expect the MN candle to close Flat end like Marubozu candles. Have not seen a Marubozu candle on MN and W1 for very long time. Preserve your trading capital and do not return too much to the market in these two days.
I have only one last remaining 4H swing position open which I will close soon and I would have completed my 20-days trading cycle today. I will take a break and stand aside and watch. Do some reading and run some forward testing, and later go catch a movie.
Rest and Relax, then be prepare for next month's battle.

also an update on that eu4h

still running, i put a 500 pips trailing stop on it and i set a tp at 1.25500 zone for now
its up to +1200 pips at the time i'm typing this

i hope some people here manages to catch some of these pips too

Yes, but only some. Was away at from computer working off Ipad. Saw the divergence and pullback candles and entered short. 200 EMA was a little of a worry but as it has been rejected a few times previously, took a calculated risk. Could not be at desk for FOMC meeting so set TP for 50 and 70 pips. Classic ABCD move. Wished I could have set a trailing SL.
What a fabulous move. Still, green pips.
