yes as long as it doesn't spike down before the up make sure your SL isn't too tight it's a tricky play just be willing to lose what you will if market goes against you.

if your trading usd cad it has a bearish weekly last week
very liable to wild swings till end of month if no break up ,

As you know, pitchforks are not pip-accurate, haha. But you can see that the price has been near the upper line a lot of times, and near the median line a lot of times too. Now for the first time in a year it is near the lower line. I would say it's gone through if the price was 1.64

Thanks I bet you can see my open trades in my trade explorer, can't you? I do not have a fixed SL, it's one of my biggest mistakes I have been robbed too much money because of them. I prefer to monitorize the price action and then I take any actions if needed.

Depends on how Yellen do in Wednesday FOMC and Friday Jackson hole, it's possible GBPUSD will take another dive towards 1.6279-1.6300 zone, high of December 2013.

As far as i see, QE exit in Oct is firm which is dollar bullish in GU although Fed rate hike date would still be a bit too early to ask for at this moment.

It's really annoying me how they pushed it above 1.7052 just to fool people like me.

1.7052 area was very important pivotal point. I was so bearish up there…. started up 100 pips shorting that point then they shot it back up to new highs and now it's been going down ever since… such an amazing world this forex is.

it caught me too. I start shorting exactly there too and then it went up some 140 pips. and now it looks like there is no floor for this thing. but I think we are not alone in this. looks like though it has happened before with GU.

You are correct. Finding a bottom/top is very tough in any market. I try and stay with the trend and hitch a ride on the momentum, but will go counter trend if the factors appear.

Curious part of this recent move, the dollar is gaining strength while equities are surging. One group taking a flight to safety, while other piling into risk assets. Makes me a little cautious. I just took profits on my major equity position, let somebody else hold the bag if things drop, so will only be trading FX for a while.

My point with some of the FF position traders is... it seems like many of them are randomly jumping into counter trend positions hoping things reverse. If you wait for a base to form with a solid H1-H4 reversal pattern, on a 4th to 5th wave of movement decreasing in size, daily indecision candles appear etc....you could increase the probability of catching a turn and at least a run up to a position where you could move your SL to break even. Seems like many traders here prefer jumping in front of a price action freight train.

Another interesting chart in my opinion. It is a weekly chart, where the price is entering the territory of the Slow Guppy Moving Averages (30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 60 SMA). This hasn't happen in a year, so even if the price can drop more, of course, be careful, since as HDA suggested it could be a zone where big fishes could be loading longs (up to 1.65 more or less)
