Its just noise...until there are strong buyers, it will go up, no matter what IMF says. Lets see if this a reversal after 1 year of bull or just a short break before a new spike higher.

well, provided that IMF is not deemed as the most trustworthy institution when it comes to public statements, nothing is overvalued if compared to toilet paper.

Anyone still holding shorts? Just curious where your SL is. If this goes to re-test monthly pivot in the next 3 hours, I will probably short it. But its still 20+ pips away.

I'm also overweight the Pound but I'm not sure thats the story here Carney will raise rates but... For me the dollar is the issue, its way too undervalued given geopolitical events, the slow but steady US recovery and the need to end quantitative easing. I think that the commentary that we will receive from the FOMC tomorrow evening will be full of hawkish bluster and a small undertone of threats to raise interest rates in the near term. The jobs report is holding around the 200K mark so no matter how we look at the picture on our charts the longer term view moving towards October is the market having a taper-tantrum and the implications are bearish for the Pound. The median downside target is probably the 1.56 area going into 2015 if the Fed sticks to ending the taper.

Most institutional participants are out of the indexes and long term investors have been in cash for some time now. The lack of volatility across asset classes does need to end and as soon as the global financial experiments of Abenomics / QE1,2,3 / BOE QE have been answered in the real economy.

Setting a long scalp at 1.69390 price is consolidating looking for pull back before big drop tomorrow. SL at 1.69190. 1.6920 is turning point and will most likely be reached tomorrow that's the price im watching, scalping until then.

I don't expect anything from FOMC tomorrow but if by any chance GDP number will be lower than expected.. that doesn't fit well with the rest of the picture and would suggest recession. A big chunk of the US recovery depends on low exchange rate and money printing....if economy is not fully self sustainable (which is yet to be proven), just try to figure out what happens when tapering comes to an end. Real employment data will be clarified in September/October. GBP will be probably taken down with a little help from BOE around the time when they decide to hike rates...as usual.
