Note to all of us who are rather new to this. Have a look at forexfactories sentiment stats. More then 80% of the people are long. So do you really believe it will move up? Maybe for a quick flash, and strong reversal. You have many situations which can play out, but market sentiment reveals a lot.

The day USD doesn't effect by very bad news data
is the day we should be worry about long EU!

it's seem to be too dangerous to hold any positions.
majority of retailers are longs, big guys know that.
Big drop before reverse.

Dollar index still strong, not a good time to go long.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

I just hedged my order. Will hope for a triple move, and use stop loss of orders to catch the triple move reversal. So once the long stops out, the price would have to begin to drop right away for me to earn money. I can set a sl for the open order so if it reverses quickly I hedge back the same order I had.

Yes cholipop ur right we can get any results when the high impact news.. instead of /.if we believe charts we can win most of the time..

I am in still holding a long trade which enter on 16-07-2014 at 1.3562 & there are other two long trade at 1.3491 & 1.3447
what should i do..

Looks like stocks are taking a hit here on not much news, data hasnt been the best this morning either but it looks like pre positioning ahead of what is going to be a very risk week.


Stocks are selling off as EM takes a hit as well, tells me that its a hawkish FOMC trade. Honestly I think EUR will perform quite well relative to some other currencies if the environment for risk deteriorates due to a shift towards hawkish fed policy.


Im buying USDTRY, USDZAR and EURGBP, EURNZD....


If Eurozone CPI surprises this week and the FOMC makes a hawkish shift the situation for the carry trades is going to be pretty bleak as the market sees the prospects for BoE and Fed hikes while rising EZ inflation takes soverign ECB QE off the table for now

On such a bad data, it should drop more than it did.

As much as the pattern says "LONG" It may go up but drop 30 pips in 10 seconds then move all the way up. I rather never go in red 20-30 pips. #CounterProductiveTowardsGoal

If I may. 1 other thing which may actually help all of us who are new to trading. You should record you screen. With the tick charts open in mt4. This way you will always have recorded the spread and movement of a run for less then 1 min.

be careful with such stats....

market sentiment and FF live account sentiment are often different things
look further at the entries and you will see the average long at FF is 3561 that's 100 pips above market is that good trading when it is draw down?
but there will also be longs in there from 1.20 etc. so it distorts the figures and on such a small sample helps to make it significantly meaningless.

Thank you very much for clearing that for me MaxDoom. I was under the impression that it was only based on trades within a certain amount of time.
