Good post. My opinion is that knowing the trends is indeed important and so is direction.
Direction overrules trend.

Missed 3621 earlier on. Monitoring for a while before entering short. seem to hold there at 3612 for a while before it go either way.

Shorted similar (3619) and out already for +8. Didnt short GU at 7148, while i had alert placed there and i just ignore it Droped nicely from it.

Closed also EJ short for +5, reloaded pending short on same place, will also short from higher if it gets there:

Although yesterday session looks like a panic sell-off on EURUSD, the market is still trading in the middle of its one month range so trading conditions are being controlled. The situation in Portugal should be watched closely by traders to determine whether this is an isolated incident, or something that could spread to other nations.

Don't know if it is so controled in Portugal. In the last years has been some strange relation between governemets and banking in Portugal, creating the conditions for this kind of "No regulation" sentiment. Hope not, but this might not be the end of the Portuguese crisis.

they are pretty good at covering up the situation. it does add to the domino affect like in other crises. the banks are connected to other banks in turn so are the governments where the banks function. the e stress test was given little scrutiny when they passed. a few skeptics were papered over by dragis and others. the fat lady can still sing.

as can see the bastards revised their forecast just prior to release from 0.0 to -0.6 and surprise surprise the release was -0.6 which if the original forecast was not changed this release would have been heavily red, not green, fuken bullshitters, my guess is there would have been some heavy shorts planned for the release that have been screwed
