I just wanted to add my 2 cents on what and how someone defines a trend...

1st should be in which time frame are we using?
2nd - How far back of within that time frame should i be looking at to determine the trend we are in?
3rd - Whos methods are better than that of Mr. Charles Dow, the founding father of the DOW JONES and one of the first to identify trends... and he says this:

Short term trend:
1 hour time frame - You should look at data up to 3 days back to determine the trend within this time frame

Short medium TF:
4hr chart - Current data plus 12 days back

Medium term TF:
Daily chart: Current data (meaning yesterdays daily close) plus 3-4 weeks back

Weekly TF:
Weekly chart- Current week (so can only be done at end of week close) plus 6 months back

And finally Monthly TF
Monthly Chart- Current month plus 1 year back


Some may disagree but i have been using this method for 14 years and proves to work very very well indeed.

What price was doing in 1995 i really do not care and so many years back... keep it relative to what is happening in the now and know your time frame.

Good luck...whats your target? 10-20 pips? As a bull...you could target 100 or more. Check weekly...its bullish. Until 1.3470 is broken, we are very bullish, but bears couldn't even break 1.35, so for me, bears are done for now. Don't be surprised to be in red at the end of the day.

Werent you the one who was telling me how there is bullish trend due to higher lows and highs? You arent adjusting trend difinition acording to your opened position are you? (just so that there is no confusion i am talking about h1, what you quoted on me)

Here is dollar, i am still sticking to 130 pips downside target unles something changes on bull side, i will only trade EU shorts at very strong supply areas due to down side on dollar, will also look for longs on EU on lower TFs.

No, I open positions according to the trend...that is buying the dips...and been cashing on it the whole week.

Both cable and eur high enough for me, I'm out with 50% profit this week, enjoy the "bearish" trend, guys. lol

went short here (@ 24) stop loss a few pips above the TL (Edit : the descending trendline)
