I see that today was a little quiet after all last nights excitement. Some of the chatter I picked up didn't make any sense lets explain why.
Punter says Cable can't go above 1.705 unless EUR at 1.4 or above.
First we're trading Cable and the market can do anything its like saying the pound can't go above 2 unless aliens land its... nonsense
FX speculation is the art of understanding the impact of currency demand based on the underlying interest rate as set by the central bank in this case the BOE vs the FED
This is FX 101
So FX 101 EUR -> NEGATIVE DEPOSIT RATES that would be bearish EUR (1.4 not on the cards for a bit)
FX 101 GBP -> Mr Carnage said rates will increase before the market expects it.... Hello look cable bullish
FX 101 FED (USD) -> The asset purchase facility is being tapered (they can like to not print more money) That bullish for the dollar
We are trying to work out who blinks first Carney vs Yellen
EU vs GU strength .... notice the BIG change in confluence?
Anyway after last nights breath taking lack of insight being burbled everywhere
Its a financial instrument it will respond to supply and demand in the UK
It will respond to the interest rate as set by the BOE
It will respond to USD / GBP news in relation to interest rates and issues of supply and demand
The nominal impact of other financial instruments will be negligible
I will refer back to this rant when next some gibbon say EUR not @ 1.4 cable can't go up
The EU is a minor influence on cable, if you are concerned about EU or see something there, trade EU not cable
