The Function of Analysis
I will speak of two forms of analysis: (1) PVSRA, and (2) all other forms of analysis, "normal" forms I will call them.
PVSRA
The prime function of PVSRA is to determine if the Market Makers (Who? Anyone moving the price. Who? Who cares.) are bulls or bears. If they are bulls and price is trending up, a Classic long setup is most desirable. If they are bears and price is trending down, a Classic short setup is most desirable.
"Normal" Forms of Analysis
The prime function of "normal" forms of analysis is to locate price levels the market might use as targets should price move towards them. It is not their function, nor within their capability, to "predict" which way price will move "next", although many traders mistakenly believe that.
These statements are as straight forward and as unerring as it gets.
