if the Fed do not artificially depreciate the u.s. dollar, the dollar should be at much higher value right now.

Sell in May and go away (since 2010)

markets are like humans. Patterns, structure, discipline, repetition.

If aud, nzd, etc dont sell off from chinese trade data on Europe or us open, than selling in May maybe the answer.

EURUSD looks to me as its brewing for a further advance towards 1.3880 , Gonna be a very happy chap if/when that happens... Still holding my longs and will continue to hold if we keep getting above certain levels which are: 1.3830 / 1.3930 / 1.4050 and ultimate target 1.42 Am also still holding my longs on GBPUSD with targets 168.50 / 1.69 and expected touch of 170.00 Happy Trading!

Very happy with the price action and i think today for GBP we will see 169.00 and above... this could help the EURUSD approach 1.39 also, not guaranteed, as this pair looks like it needs to settle and re-tank before another leg up.

So now, i will look to build on my existing long positions, and buy any dips on both these pairs. My Targets are already mentioned in the my oven quoted post.

Will look to buy at 1.3830 and 1.6760 if we get there... otherwise i will add onto these positions with breaks above 1.3880 and 1.6818

Market moving news later today for GBP, the way i see it should be hawkish throughout, GBP doing very well indeed.

Happy Trading!
Cheers!! PM23

The federal reserve has always had a balance sheet, even before 2007-08 (guessing at least a few hundred billion on the balance sheet).

The feds don't really 'depreciate' the dollar, they 'credit' a banks account that has reserves with the federal reserve. This 'adds' to the requirements of the 'required reserves' of a bank. So pretty much, if a bank needs to hold 15% reserves, the fed funds may be 5% of that mark. In essence, the federal reserve is indirectly lowering the reserve requirement.

So the bank has extra money on hand, they lend this out (in theory) for low rates (high stockpile of cash = more supply = lower rates to charge). But one problem of 1980's-2007/08 is credit worthiness (growing externality) so 'public monies' becomes polarized ...

Notice how the 'audit the fed' rhetoric has gone away? expect it to come back soon.

My personal question/concern isn't if the fed reserve is manipulating markets, my question is much simpler .. what discount are banks getting with their transactions with the Federal Reserve? is the Federal Reserve giving them bonds at a 10%, 20%, or dare I say 30% discount to sell at market price with liabilities attached?

oh I know, I am looking .9540 & .9750 but I listed that area as with looking at the xpairs .. AUD has plenty of room to run .. and even though AUD has been rallying, it hasn't had its signature multi-hundred pip blowout.

Unless we break below .9200, I am buying this pair with any retrace; not to say I won't short ... but prefer buying over selling.

Hi. A bit off subject... but I have being looking for a simple Position Lot Size Calculator. I can find heaps of web sites that provide the calculations but I can't seem to find a download. I have started trading a strategy that requires calculation of profit in dollars rather than in pips like I normally use and my account is in AU making it a little more difficult. I can do the long hand version but I'm just lazy .

If anyone has a download amongst their dusty files that they wouldn't mind sharing it would be much appreciated.
