well, Its really just because of what Draghi said... I guess in reality inflation rates are not a singularity reflection cross of entire eu economy, rather they reflect the major economies..

look at the weekly eu candles, 6 green candles, 400 pips, weekly advance average of 67 pips....

u can roughly calculate...that we havent hit the peak yet....the best is yet to come, unless next week, we still stucked at 139 levels.

I am referring the same. The highest consecutive growth in EU is 5 weeks. If this week finish high then it is unprecedented move in 4 years.

This will be a good move down just might have to wait at least a couple days on this one! Back down to low 38's looks entirely possible

Well... tough spot here for the USD ahead of retail sales tomorrow.

Long USD vs Europe (EUR,GBP,CHF)
GBP doesn't work because market expects UK rate hikes soon, even though inflation is falling and very recent data hasnt been gangbusters like it was in late 2013
EUR doesn't work because the current account surplus, equity inflows, and bank deleveraging counteract the speculative selling. ECB also has no credibility on fighting disinflation.
CHF pegged to EUR to thats almost irrelevant.

Long USD vs JPY
Too corrrelated to risk sentiment to rally significantly higher from here, unless correlations with SPX and US yields break down. China fears are keeping stocks, yields and USDJPY from rising too far.

Long USD vs Commodity FX (AUD,NZD,ZAR,CAD)
Has worked the last few days, and may be the only way to express USD longs at the moment given China related weakness.
NZD rate hikes expected so it should outperform the others.

Anyone have a thouoght?

I am hesitant. It seems like this pair just want to test 1.4000...

Gave up on my shorts above 1.3880 for now, daily candle is bullish. At this point the market seems to just have the idea of push EUR higher until the ECB folds, right now they have no credibility.

3788 still has its gravity.. its below yesterday's low.. breaking yesterdays low would set up 3751.. back to 3757 or januarys norm with the 3891 high.. no new # to replace 3757 atm. but 3832 ish is a possibility. after a target is reached, a retrace happens most times soon after. below 3788 is 3781. that one makes sense for a 4146 run. bbl stopped out or green.

USD is at the moment the behaving as a global funding currency while other countries are at the other end of the flow, US growth will lead to global growth and more diversifcaiton away from the USD to invest aboard, until no inflation pick up in US relatively to other nations don't expect USD strenght. Just keep a eye on US inflation, all those non-working trades will work as soon market shift expectations.
Besides all that Euro is behaving very much as a parking lot for money. The surplus/inflows argument is false, it helps but thats not what is driving euro strenght at all. Its mainly deflation + ECB behaviour. Thats the true core diference in eur vs usd
