oh no.. not going to happen anytime soon.. it's just one of the many possibilities.. that if it it decides to do a straight move, but we know how this works, as the pair moves, it continuously prints new information, hard to explain.. actually from the book I'm reading.. build a prediction model/observe/update model, repeat the cycle... that's just one model subject to many updates as we move along.. Kind of how I see it..

Edit: A correlation function can be calculated (I bet it exists somewhere), it's just not worth for me to incorporate it in my method...

I profit if realized volatility is greater than implied volatility. Sometimes known as Volatiltiy arbitrage (i don't like that name as its not real arb)

Buying or longing Vol has to be done by buying an option and therefore being sensitive to "vega" - i.e. if EURUSD Implied vol rises, the value of the option rises. Or the EURUSD needs to trade outside a predetermined range, so if EUR is > 1.40 or <1.34 I profit or finally by delta hedging I make money on the undulations in the EURUSD.

Basically, the more it moves, the more I make, not dependent on which way it moves, up or down, I don't care.

I mentioned this treaty to you but it was addressed to every one here. One who understand this negotiation will understand why the euro bears are slaughtered. Sure the market will retrace, and again bears will be slaughtered, at leas until the end of the year. The outcome of this round of negotiation will give some clues.

does your broker allows to open long/short at the same time ? if so, which one is it ?

you trade euro volatility, but Vaches thought you did VIX, the equities volatility. Totally two different instruments.
