Interesting dude, I am looking at something very similar this week.
Wont surprise me if Carney says some positive stuff and we pump up another 100+ Pips, then GBP data starts falling off a cliff this quarter.
This straight up run I think is setting up something special soon for shorts.

I have read Ton of speculation and still scratching my head folks calling 1.70-1.73+ etc.
I have to remind myself few facts.
A. Carney 100% articulated many times IR raise is 1-2yr away.
B. Yellen 100% agreed that Tapering will continue depending on numbers.

Some logical context here
For Cable to reach 1.70+ EU must be 1.40+
Reality of this happening is slim.EU is struggling to break 1.37
From perspective of economics why would Brtis push for higher currency when their biggest trading partner EZ wants lower currency.
These 2 concepts are in conflict.I can just envision soon Carney playing down IR to lower pound.They need lower pound to stay competitive.


Putting these two together I don't see continues impulsive uptrend.
Once Bears switch to Bulls and feel comfortable in their longs (remember nothing has been raised yet) that's when hummer will fall.

What do you think would happen when UK announcement on coming Tue/Wed matches with consensus/expectations?
Do you think it will shoot up or stay flat and let S&P drop drive the price down a bit for consolidation?

With all the floods numbers could be negative actually.Very good chance that may happen.
Otherwise nobody knows.It could also be all the green data has been priced in already and even with green numbers price could drop unexpectedly.
In short taking obvious long at this junction could be "too easy"
And anyone who traded long enough knows nothing in markets is easy.

Yes brother, longer term low interest rates, Obama now getting an unconditional green light to raise the debt ceiling, (let's create more debt so we can keep functioning and keep paying the interest on old debt), a money supply chart that looks like a theme park hell ride.
Europe and Britain are preserving the value of their currency through more responsible CB governance, it's all currently just starting to be priced in from what I can see.

A nice correction down over coming weeks, then let the emerging longer term trend keep developing is my outlook.

Who is going to look for jobs now or hire anyone now....Check out severity of this and how will it effect manufacturing,exports etc, for all practical reasons one can say it does not help.Cost of economical damage is staggering.I won't be surprised if markets opens with gap down and perhaps serious selling next week.

David you are very convincing - this could cost millions if not billions and definitely something must happen in the forex market as a result of this. So i choose to step aside BOE must be thinking now to stop tradings first lol....

Hmmm, I couldn't really find anything fundamentally different in what he said. The bulls will still think the rate hike is coming sooner. The bears will keep thinking its going to be low rates forever.
