Besides I think you would have to add CAD and AUD on the week side. Chance are that that stupid currency war will also fall on the emerging markets...

Yes the USD will definitely strengthen, but not against the Euro and Cable.
The USD will strengthen against all the commodity and EM currencies. In fact I expect it to blow them away for a while... maybe till the summer.

no important data for cable today, but eurusd could be interesting (10:00 ifo-index).
in my point of view, uptrend in cable is still valid on 1d-chart (touched trendline+rebound).
maybe i will try a long when 1h-chart gives me a signal (above P 1,6543 with goal R1 1,6606), but only with a small bet because this trade will be not event-driven.

watching 1.65 for long.
would like to see a small move up to 1.656 and then pullback to 1.65 for entry at a good price.

We have a high impact US news event today.
Ive noticed some comments over last 4/5 days discounting or not acknowledging US news events as affecting this pair.
this is so odd.
Is everyone so distracted by the UK they have forgotten this is the GBPUSD "pair"?

you are thinking about the new home sales? they are shown as a high impact news, but i wonder if it will be like that. remember last thursday, none of those high impact news gave the cable any important increase in vola.

and since when did the housing data become high impact. the only high impact data as of now is retail sales and NFP. rest is all bullshit. don't trade keeping tht data in mind.

it is still not in a mood to drop. i think 50% retacement of friday's low to friday's high can be tried as a shorting opportunit which comes to 1.6572

price could easily go to 1.61 or so but too often will it pullback and shake out buyers / sellers.
better to wait for an entry at 1.65 or so to be on the safe side, imo.
