Thanks WDays. It's really good reading material from x-man. I usually go back couple of months of Data and check the TDI crosses to see the PA action during LO/NYO. I haven't seen any instructions to test H1 and H4 withg EA that can show us equity curve? I have been spending countless hours testing the charts with F12 key

Thanks, hoperich

I usually stay away from market on Friday evening. But the setup was there to close the week with few pips. Enter on TDI bounce and price momentum.

Hello guys/gals, I just want to say hi and thank a few forum members in particular for keeping me inspired to keep going on my trading journey. I have only posted on the TMS thread 7 times in the past but I do read it thoroughly every week and constantly get inspired to keep working at learning more and more about myself and the markets. I am not completely new to trading, I have traded live accounts in the past using other systems with less than impressive results. I count long-term break-even as less than impressive as its not a good representation...

Hi Oz,

Thanks for this post and sharing your goal for 2014.

Your post above kept me thinking for the whole day as I am still in the midst of planning my activities in 2014.
I will resume trading only in week03, i.e. starting from the 13 Jan so I still have another week to day dream.
I am thinking of what projects to do this year. There were a few old ideas which may be feasible this year and I need to work on the details and time schedule.

For the folks in Australia, good news is that Dr Van Tharp will come to Sydney in March and he has a few workshops offer. His system development workshop is something which is worthwhile to look at.

Hope to hear from other TMS traders here of their plans and goals in 2014. And also any suggestions for me to consider.

Trade Well.
EMMANUEL

I've been reading and taking notes on this thread for a period of time.

However one thing still intrigues me. Using the aggressive (normal) method, we enter on the on the beginning of the candle when the TDI crosses. This is after taking into account the recent S/R, trend etc.

Thing is, how do we know the candle wouldn't retrace so it ends up making a hook instead? I've attached a picture for example.

In the trade in the picture, the TDI did cross, made some decent pips. I blacked out the area and is now left to show what the trader sees when he enters the trade. Yes there's a TDI crossing over in real time, but that will be repainting and will cross down if the candle closes bearish. While losses are inevitable, what makes a trader confident that a TDI cross will remain, a confirmed cross?

In this way, wouldn't backtesting not be possible, seeing a TDI in real time, might end up to be a "touch of the red line and hook down" looking at history charts?

Would appreciate if someone could give some insight about this, thanks.

We don't "know" anything its a probabilities game, taking everything into account including the higher timeframes is it likely to go the way we think...thats all we can do. As far as backtesting goes, if you use the one I have attached it locks in where the tdi red and green lines were when the candle closed so you will see exactly what it looked like at the time. Set the timeframe to the one you want to see.

additional comments:

Take note of those small candles. I am sure if you place the 5SMMA PAC on your chart, these candles are trapped within the PAC.

So far as TMS 4H trade entry and exit rules, we should be prepared to exit when the TDI goes flat or hook back. This is how Big E trades, he cut his position very quickly like what many scalpers would do.

Trade Well.

TMS 4H trading is aggressive entry and to me that is early entry. Entry rule is simple, TDI cross and APB change colour and we enter on candle #1 and #2. After candle #3, we do not chase after the market. The best entry is when APB change colour and candle#1 break out of the H4 PAC with a TDI 12-2 or 4-6 or cross as setup confirmation. Don't believe me? ... just keep a clean chart with just TDI, APB and...

Why the comment about 2 naughty boys, this is where I first found synergy-pro, it utilizes the TMS rules with additions?? I'm confused!

I wouldn't say "know", but confident enough to enter the trade (while obviously not expecting to win 100% of the time)

I'll check out that indicator, thanks!

Reason I asked that is because when I study Phx62 charts, he enters at the beginning of the candle when it crosses. And with that alone it's impossible to backtest unless I'll be doing the conservative method (enter after the TDI cross's candle has closed)

Emmanuel thanks so much for your analysis, that helps a lot. That was actually one of the random Phx62 charts he posted a while ago

I've read till approximately around page 200++, and now looking at the new posts, seems like there has been a lot of changes (with the 5SMMA PAC??). Is there a post somewhere which explains the new techniques/checklists you guys have added?

Very good analysis provided by Emmanuel7788 as a senior member. Here is what I see on my chart. Also in my observation, usually candle with wicks on both end takes more time, so look for a candle with no lower/upper wick when pulling the trigger. Phx62 has very good example about it "Be a sniper not machine gunner". It mean if you enter without momentum, then you might have to wait for long time until price start moving in your direction. If the entry is A+ then price immediately resume in your direction. Once the price reach 20 to 30 pips positive, move your S/L to BE+ some pips and you are in free trade.

My new years resolution:

1. Stay hungary...Stay Foolish (Steve jobs)

2. But once you reach the goal always think about needy and share your wealth.

3. Just remember one thing at the end of day we all dead, so enjoy each and every moment just like its your last day. Never hold yourself doing new things.

Good luck to all.

I have been thinking about this a lot the last few weeks...my goals this year regarding the TMS thread and my trading (and those I am willing to disclose here) are to:

  1. Focus my trading more around the 3 market types observed using TMS
  2. Post more examples of my trades for those interested,
  3. focus more on PA,
  4. focus my energy on the daily/weekly time-frame as I cant dedicate much time during the day to 4H charts. I understand traders in this thread struggle with what time frame to choose...sorry to add more fuel to the fire...but this will be my plan for me in this thread in 2014.
  5. Look at the possibility of forming a group of TMS traders that look at Daily/Weekly Charts that post in this thread. Not sure if there is many of them here. (PM me if interested)

  1. TMS II...anymore updates?
  2. Some more discussions on the 3 market types - trending and sideways wide ranging and narrow ranging. Looking back at this post the thread gave little interest in this...for me I am very interested in opening more of a discussion on this...see post below:
