The cool thing about APB is that for instance on a pullback setup (IB) you dont need to wait for a break below the low of the candle, all you need is for APB to change color. Generally, I've noticed that when such a setup occurs, the IB closes lower (in an uptrend) APB remaining blue and the next candle to open is usually red. If the TDI has crossed as APB changes color, I pull the trigger. What's more, unless there are news, 99% of the time price wont move above the IB before heading lower

This may not be the most ideal looking setup... but it gives a general idea of what I mean.

Nelly:

Master Candle discussion started in July 2013. Not many posts, if you use the FF search using "Master Candle" as keyword, that would bring up the posts.

One example is post#22,542.

What I said was the APB hides the real Price Bar. See example below.
The APB Open is always 50% of the previous APB, and the real price not necessarily reach that 50% level.
When I talk about Price Action, I am referring to the real Price Bars or Japanese Candlesticks Patterns.

When I talk about price action, it is about an overall view of the price structure and its behaviour seen on the chart. I did not say the APB hides the price action.

Most TMS traders uses the APB/HA to look for a change in the colour and use that as a entry and exit condition.

The MC is just one CSP use to highlight price consolidation and we wait to trade the breakout.

We can use the MC in higher timeframe for example D and W.
Nothing is stopping us to trade in lower timeframe after a higher Timeframe MC shows up.
Usually a trade entry in lower timeframe will put us in the market before the MC breakout occur.
This is where knowing how to reconcile the multiple timeframe is an important skill you need to learn and master.
The same TMS rules for H4 and H1 applies when we trade when price is in higher timeframe consolidation.

Hello guys/gals,

I just want to say hi and thank a few forum members in particular for keeping me inspired to keep going on my trading journey. I have only posted on the TMS thread 7 times in the past but I do read it thoroughly every week and constantly get inspired to keep working at learning more and more about myself and the markets.

I am not completely new to trading, I have traded live accounts in the past using other systems with less than impressive results. I count long-term break-even as less than impressive as its not a good representation of time and effort sacrificed. After taking a step back from trading late last year to work on my psychology in the style of Mark Douglas's Trading in the Zone book I now feel like I am ready to start building my trading method/system. I am not saying that my trading psychology is what it needs to be but I believe I need to develop mental fitness as I go along building my system as an athlete would strengthen and condition his/her mind and body for competition.

My biggest problem in the past and the thing that brought me most stress and the inability to make a trading based decision based on too many variables. I started off using Gann/Fibonacci forecasting techniques after touching base with a successful trader in my local area. The problem with the Gann/Fib stuff is that it is highly subjective in my opinion. Its all well and good to come up with forecasts etc and place trades but when there is no solid trading rule structure subjectivity, if not used by a highly experienced trader, can be absolutely devastating to a struggling trader because after your mind has tricked you into making the "wrong" decision that you only see in hindsight, you feel like you have betrayed yourself and its a vicious cycle.

I know that Fib levels are used to some extent in TMS but the TMS method is an all-encompassing technique taking into account Fibs, Candles patterns, S&R and other Price Action related things so we can get a well scrutinized and high probability trade. This in my opinion takes away most subjectivity and back-testing would most certainly help with this.

I want to say thank-you to the main custodians of this thread (Big E, Emmanuel, Phx62, Erol) and all other contributors for taking the time to share and contribute because I know because of your generosity I have all the information to succeed in this sometimes extremely frustrating endeavor we call "trading".

My goal for this year is by the end of the calender year 2014 to be producing a profit of 10% every 20 trading days as Emmanuel suggests to aim for. If I can do this I will be able to eventually reduce my working hours in my day job. I will be working exclusively on the 4 hour time-frame also as I believe this will give me the best work/life/trading balance and that is what will make the difference long term. I have been splashing around in the shallows for far too long in this thread. The information shared here is absolute gold and I look forward to bringing what I can to the forum.

Here's a repeat of part of my post 26332 in October.
In the 100 business days from May 23 up to last Friday 11 October (i.e. not including UK Bank Holidays May 27 and Aug 26), the high or low of the London session (0800 to 1700 British Summer Time (GMT+1)) was set in the first 3 H1 bars of the session the following number of times:


GJ 81

EJ 76

EA 74

EU 65

AU 71


GU 77

Basically, X-Man has explained the PB candle as:
