ops, symmetrical triangle was exited, gbp has done a great effort to avoid getting below 1.64 area , eu downtrend putting lot of pressure on this.

Sounds good to me. Still in an uptrend long-term though aren't we, but i still think there's room to go down more. So you think it will break the trend of higher lows and keep heading south?

Any thoughts on EUR/USD heading the same way? Think i'll open up a sell when the market opens again and aim for around the 1.3523 area.

I was looking at the intraday of the DJIA.

Notice it shot up towards the end of the day? But when this was happening, GBP was headed down. True, we came back up in the last hour. But the market was turning down then.

I am extremely bearish on pound.. The UK is not the same as what it was in 1980s or so.. As long as the recession fears are high and the interest rates are at low, no one can expect the pound to trade above 1.6 against the dollar. And, in order for the interest rate to go up, the economy in the neighboring Euro must substantially recover as well. If Euro cuts interest rate to negative, it will have an affect on UK as well which may need to follow soon to cut the rates by 25 bps minimum. I always see GBP/USD below 1.6 as long as we are not out of recession.

Is my broker fooling me with a print of 1.66 recently?, or am I smoking fairy dust...
we have been above 1.6 for over a month now with accelerating bullish weekly and monthly candles

I’m not entirely sure who this question is directed at, but if I may offer some advice: Don’t ask such a question, as you will receive calls for both long and short.

If you cannot formulate your own opinion, based upon your own analysis, and trade accordingly and within safe lot size margins, this game will give you an apoplectic before you know it.

And to you too. Hope the barbeque was free of any bad weather. Here in my little part of France, it was cold, wet and windy... and yes, my wife and I, and several friends went riding on New Year's day. We looked like drowned rats when we got back to the stables...
