It's generally a good idea to take a break and walk away from the computer if you're this angry over trading. Maybe take a week off.

However, I'm curious about your trading style. It seems to me like you've got a pretty solid foundation and strategy. And you're looking to buy when it gets into your target area (Patience! Imagine if we all had that?).

But why not sell now, and then buy to close and buy again when it finally arrives in your target area? Why not make money both ways?

Because the trend is up

  1. Logically what you are saying seems correct (and theoretically it is)
  2. However you will notice that if you trade counter trend you have to reduce your position size or be stopped out often
  3. It is more profitable to wait for a larger pull back and then trade with the trend as you are less likely to be stopped out

That does make a lot of sense. If you get into a counter trend trade and it doesn't go your way, you either have to take a quick loss or risk losing a lot of money.

I suppose if Pip waits until his buy area, if it continues to go down, he can hold his buy until we move back into the direction of the trend.

It causes less chest pain, counter trend volatility often "spikes" you out of a position, however trading with the trend it is most probable that your stops will hold.
In cash is a good position while you wait for the right entry... Its free to wait Sir

As for me, my prediction is a bit different than Pips.

I see us making higher lows and lower highs forming a symmetrical triangle until we bust up or down, but my bias would be up, continuing the trend.

Exactly what Jimmy said, but I will add one thing I have already mentioned in a prior post and that is that ABC corrections are unpredictable until the B wave is confirmed. It is only at that point when you can reasonably calculate where the correction is likely to end and by that time the majority of the correction is pretty much over.

Bingo. If I screw up and get in too early, the trend will save my ass.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this thread, have been reading you guys for a few months. Many times you are right and equal amount of times many are wrong (usually when the market does something crazy- which it does often)

I wanted to ask all of you guys since your first trade ever in forex are you in overall Profit or Loss. ???
Would be nice to know if some of us do exist here that are actually in a overall profit!

I'm in a overall loss btw.

Also were any of you trading this time last year?
Do you recall the position of GU ?? Looking really promising ??? Then BAM completely broke down down down. Is no one anticipating a similar view? Given it is near a peak high on W1 and M1, and history tells us it usually always collapses here. I'd just like to share my view as majority of the members here are confident on Longs and the uptrend, isnt speculating going beyond the current trend? (history W1 & M1), anyone else with a few it will come tumbling down?

The correction sooner ends than the trernd and it is obvious his determined trend is bullis on the daily!

We all see long/short signals, but more profitable and easiest to take a trade in the same way than the trend, less stoploss to get.

1 hr and 4hr.

We have a couple of lower 4hr tails at resistance turned support.

"If" we are still around here or slightly higher come next US news event, I would be looking for further bullish PA as confirmation of trend continuation
