I wouldn't bank on any reliable correlations between the commodity currencies and European currencies.
Those correlations went out the window many weeks ago.
I think the Aussie still needs to take a bit more of a beating.
Anyway, the size and composition of the taper, plus any additional changes in forward guidance by the Fed could change the entire landscape, Best to reduce exposure until we have a chance to see what the statement contains, what Benny says in the press conference, and most important, how the market reacts to it.
Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it

there is heavy selling between 1.6380-1.6390. will be tough for GBP to cross 1.6400-10 today till bernanke. price will probably stay here till option expiry and then turn south

upside momentum is lagging in eurusd, gu, shorting this beautiful lady 1.6385 tp 1.6350 for fast pips.

yes i find it hard to change tac sometimes when in the back of your mind tells you to short to below 1.600 i will wait untill the news 60/50 short ............ i think LOL been long to long

Any other day I would short this for few dozen pips-not today due to FOMC. RSI 1hr overbought NFP swing high

If this is manipulation, then it is manipulation of the econ data.
Unemployment dropped to 7.4% from 7.6% prior, and avg earnings up 0.9% from 0.7% prior which was also revised up to 0.8%

If those kinds of numbers don't produce a rally, nothing will.

Suprising to me as well. But then 1 scenario suddenly dawned on me.

The correlation between s&p500 and the dollar (and therefore gbpusd strength or weakness) was lately like, up index, up dollar, or other way when down.
The dollar safe heaven behaviour was not to be seen in late months a lot.

So, what if bigger players already have or are pricing in NO TAPER and there for are (or were earlier) buying counter parts of the dollar,
in regards to that factor. It is unlikely that we see a substantial up move in equities, and i am short a dax cfd.

To check when that correlation changes, i keep my dollar index chart on at all time. Same for s&p500.
I favor a small sell off in equities, and dollar would follow if that what i just wrote plays out.

I agree, but what I find surprising is the strength and the size of this move on FOMC day. You would think that some uncertainty regarding the Fed would cap the rally to some extent and cause some profit taking along the way, but so far it's been one way up and a big range day...
