I have had another member mention that this happens as well. As I have tested the SLTP settings, I can only confirm they work, not how they set the orders.

The EA already has a trailing stop built in.

By setting trailstp_std=5, the EA will lock in profits at even as soon as the first 5 pips are made and will continue to follow the price until profit is reached or until price retraces to the trailing stop.

I have seen the same thing on something being above water and then consequently going into negative numbers, but because of how erratic price movement can be, setting trailing stops too tight will only consequently cause the EA to close too early and not manage to make any solid ranges.

It was Dark_Force that got me onto the standard 13 pip trail and for the most part, it seems to be fairly reliable, but that's not to say there aren't better settings for different time frames or versions.

The instructions for the TDI are included with the EA in a readme file.

Follow the Leader is an idea I have that is set to measure the speed of price vs the changing of a direction through the use of indicators.

Though I believe the logic to be sound, there will need to be some playing with and adjusting settings wise to maximize the efforts of this EA.

What I was steering for was something that would find some decent ranges on the longer timeframes, and I think as far as the triggering is concernened, it is probably one of the best for trading time frames from M15 - Hourly.

Again, on these, I think that the settings may not be the best yet...I had it mostly written and released before really having a chance to play.

Will see where we can take this one as a group!

Hmm , i've setup myfxbook hours earlier to track the new bot , but for some reason i'm unable to get the magics numbers to appear in myfxbook for me to track. There's still a whole bunch of unused magics number that i've used previously but are not in use now. Any myfxbook user here who can guide me ? .. i just need magics number 22 and 88 to appear and to remove all those unused ones. Thanks in advance.

I've never actually had to set up the Magic Numbers on myfxbook. I think that is more specific if you don't want to see any of them.

At default, if you select to share all, everything is public and can be sorted by the custom analysis tool.

I am running mine, both new bots on the M5.

The GVC version, is running like the original SWB with a narrow TP range. Due to volatility and the season, I have decreased the minimum range to 5 pips and multiplier set to 2. Given the logic and with a review of the charts, these are high risk settings, but could prove to be rather lucrative over the duration.

My idea was to have something for those wanting a more solid based trigger for longer time frames. As this is a PRICE trigger, not geared by indicators, it should perform best on every chart longer than the M1. M1 will most likely not be able to provide the range for cost averaging required, given the whippy spikes.

So...as a longer term, add a few bucks per month, set it to the H1.

For seeing what price will really do, set it to the M5.

Dietmar,

I can appreciate your wanting to keep focus on a single or a couple of different sets of logic. Because of the number of others who continuously add and test, this will provide the best of both worlds. You can keep your focus and check in on the progress of others.

As these prove their individual advantages and as others customize them to the different time frames, we will be able to share and compare and find something through the community that will meet with our individual needs.

One of the biggest reasons for me sharing these with others is so that they can lend different perspectives of markets through price, time frames, indicators and ranges.

I cannot gauge what aspects of markets are specific to you, but am willing to share as much knowledge as I can make available. Your exposure to these and having these as a tool in your traders tool kit will prove themselves as to how they will lend to your current market outlook. If in the end, you decide to stick to manual, or work with the EAs fully or partially in automation, you will have a great idea as to which will be the most effective.
