It is the amount of your account, by way of percentage, that you are willing to risk.

What it basically is, is a stop loss.

At default, it will trade until profitable or until it blows up. IE, Max account loss is 100%.

If you reduce this value to 10, and the balance of your open trades hits a 10% drawdown, it will close all at loss.

This being said, it will resume trading after the loss is taken, but ensures that trades above a certain level don't have the ability to wipe you out.

I am not exactly sure how it takes multiple pairs into consideration, will have to wait for GVC to lend his knowledge on that.

Spot on Magix.

The RiskPercent is set to work on the particular pair.

So if EURUSD is set to 10% and hits, it will close only that pairs trades.

This is very clever Gvc.
Initially I thought it works on the entire equity. Making it pair specific is quite helpful.
Thanks.

Hi DarkForce If AutoProfit = True, then tp_factor takes precedence over tp_in_money. If trailStop >0 and AutoProfit = True, then both functions work independently of each other. Whichever one hits first will close the trades......

Hi,

Here's more about my TDI 15 test...Originally when I set it up, I wanted for the EA to TOE with at least a $13 profit (tp_in_money=13). I also chose .2 for the tp_factor (which equals $10) for any pair that opened multiple trades, thinking that if I could grab $10 on multiple trades that would be good enough. I mistakenly left the trailing stop on for the first few trades, which I have since changed. I wanted the pair to close near it maximum potential and not be taken out by a TS.

Last week I had two sell trades for U/J and E/J that did not close despite being $50-80 in profit and getting an opposite buy signal. Hmm, not sure what to change for my settings to achieve my desired results.

Also, even though I chose 0 for increment, the bot has increased my trades by .10. I thought by using 0, that the lot would stay the same at .10. Currently I have 2 U/J sells which went to approx $20 in total profit and didn't close.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Sarah

I am going to attack the easy part first, and that is the increment.

The logic of the EA under the increment is:
Last Lot + Increment Value.

So, because you started with an initial lot of $1 and increment of $0,
Each trade per trigger on grid will be:
Level 1 - Start lot - $1
Level 2 - $1+0 = $1
Level 3 - $1+0 = $1
And will carry until the Max Levels you have set as level =X <-default =15.

As far as why the EA never closed these trades...I don't have a good answer, with exception to say that the terminal locked up and is refusing the logic set.

Restarting the terminal may do the trick, or you may have to close all trades and restart the terminal for it to get sorted, proper.

After the discussion we have been having and with the input from GVC, the logic of the trades at your current should close at the Auto Profit level, 2% or $10 (ish), will vary dependent on the account equity.

With Autoprofit=True, the TOE and tp_in_money is for all intents and purposes, disabled. The EA logic will be set for AutoProfit, only.

I know this doesn't help out with the trades that you have current, but getting them closed and restarting should allow this to work properly. GVC has a copy of the source coding on this and if there is anything that he could add, I believe he will.

Sorry Sarah, this is the best I got for you right now.

Hmmm.
It sounds like you have multiple instances of the EA running on your system.
I can undestand the confusion with not closing the positions at a specific profit BUT the increment issue is really strange.
As indicated by Magix the best option could be to terminate the EA, remove it completely from your charts and restart the MT trading station.
Good luck.
Thanks.

K,

Here it is, and I only came across this because of this weeks EA being set to AutoProfit=true;

It's the TOE that keeps your trades from closing.

I had assumed that TOE was disabled, but in fact, this is simply not the case. I would believe the value that the TOE will close after is on the Autoprofit as it is the leading force, and given that the distance between that and your tp_in_money is only like 3 bucks, probably won't make that much of a difference.

So...

For the full understanding of the TOE...

It will close trades, once the value of the trade is greater than, either the tp_in_money, or autoprofit value in dollars
IF
And only IF
There is a counter trigger.

Mystery Solved!

Now...

Moving on. If you only want these EAs to take a single trade and not add any after, set level to 1.
This will make it so that you don't need to worry about the increment value at all, because there won't be a second trade.

If you want to shorten the profit range, set autoprofit=false and tp_in_money=0.

This way, the first counter trigger where your trades are above 0, will close your profit.

Got it!

if (AutoProfit) {tp_in_money=AccountEquity()/100*tp_factor;}

if(profit>=tp_in_money && signal()==buy|| a>0)
{
closeall();
closeall();
closeall();
a++;
if(total()==0) a=0;

If autoprofit=true, that the TOE will trigger out the trades the first TOE after the autoprofit value!!!

WHEW!!!

Now I can move on!!

I'm having a play about with the settings on the TDI

I have set 'use sl& tp' to True and 'Auto Profit' to False, but when a trade is taken the TP is shown, but not the SL, is there something else I should have changed?

Hi magix, I see in my history, a order have a good profit but then he wait to long and then going in -, its possible for the ea logic, when a order is in +5 profit, but second profit +10 not reached yet (or thirdy +15), and then come a massive lost in pips, can the ea fast close the order, of course in last $ win?
thank you -KillerCH

Hi Magix,

I would love to come along and donate for the thread and bot. I just completed reading the thread and most things are clear. For me however working with the TDI is new and I can't find the rules behind the system (except for the rules/settings for the bot). Can you share a link to a thread that explains the logic/rules behind the system that is used for the bot, if such thread exists.

As for something you mentioned earlier. I think you're spot on saying that one should collect profits every once in a while and then start over again, or at least collect a bigger part of the profits and accumelate with what stays in.

Thanks!
