I'm still holding whats left of my long at 1.6242, but I have my doubts about making new highs.
Until I see a break and close below 1.6240 or above 1.6437, I'm quite happy sitting back with some popcorn. I may trade the range intraday, but not until after NFP, by which time we may actually have a breakout anyway.

any idea here about how long the opec thing can hold weak the $?
i mean... is just a spike, a matter of last 2 hours just for the taste to kill someone.... or can it give power for the whole week or next week?

I am not going to try and make sense of what is happening until after NFP Friday. Too much volatility lately. Lower liquidity is not helping either.

I don't understand the predictions this time around. I'm looking at the GDP and the Unemployment predictions and I'm thinking, "Did they forget about Christmas?"

Seems like we should have much higher GDP numbers and much lower unemployment, when you consider all the economic activity at this time of the year.

ye this nfp should give a lot of damages in the fx market...
but in my opinion, soon the fed will come out saying
"we are thinking to prepare a plan to eventually end the QE programme because blah blah"

so not confirming anything at all...
just to give a push. to test market strength once more

I also think, based on stories about the unemployment numbers prior to the 2012 election, we will see manipulation in those numbers.

This administration is currently suffering from sinking poll numbers. It needs a boost. The best way to get that boost is through a recovering economy. A recovering economy will take Obamacare out of the headlines. Say, a drop below 7% unemployment?

With the latest strength in the employment components of the PMI's, the lower jobless claims numbers and the strong ADP with previous revisions, I would not be surprised if we see an unemployment of 7.1% on Friday... add some manipulation to that and we could easily see 7.0%

Was thinking short on eur/gbp/aud but considering long, still waiting for news though... might be safer to wait for tomorrow which more than likely will be a continuation of today (if they pop tonight).
