Yeah there are pressures on the euro, this is why EU 1.38 and euro had been gaining unstoppable strength against all currencies, except against the CHF.
Some must mind their own business, go back to your job, this one is surely not for you

An ongoing inverse head and shoulders formation, head 1.2215 shoulders 1.2280, neckline 1.2375, price must next go to 1.2375, breakout of neckline to 1.2410s 1.2430s 1.2470s. This view valid until 1.2280 break.

Saying this with a little bit of caution due to EC untruthful, unreliable price movement even when technically look to be clear.

Simon- don't trust EC candles formation, wait until the candle closes. After NFP the 1 and 4 hour candles looked very bullish after going to 1.2365 but what was next? A big bearish 4 hour candle. This is why I insist on CAUTION when trading EC esp. and any pair wait for candle closes.
Trade according to current market condition, not what you think would be.

To me this pair respects 2 things: key levels (the same ones for the past 2 years) & RSI in H1 and once in a while a channel.
I agree that it cares little about candle formation, ABCs, other usual technical set ups.

So, for the time being, I only see a range between 1.228 (earlier I wrote 1.2314, but was proven wrong) and 1.2385 (I could also revise this later to 1.236). Only next weeks FOMC could push the pair out of this range (in any direction).

Bear in mind Syria (what, who) is over, shutdown digested, etc, yet UC hit a 2 years record low!!! On which news?! I checked volumes, needless to say that EURUSD is by far the biggest, UC turn a larger volume than EC. So back to UC, have you checked the key resistance left bellow the recent lows we've hit.... there are none for a while; abyss. EU is presently high, it is more likely to push up another 500 pips or loss them? All to say, I am not sure that any ETEI will play out for the time being.

Presently, I see a little rounding bottom in H1, but I am afraid that it will not take us very far. To me, over the next few days, hitting 1.236 would be wonderful, 1.238 a blessing.... (I would blindly short 1.236 or 1.238, depending on how we get there...)

Somebody is selling CHF.

All CHF pair jumped 15-20 pips in 10 minutes.

Any news?

GC jumped up after the GBP news at 9:30am.

There was a dance this morning while UC touched 0.89 and EC touched 1.23.

I think a lot of large players were waiting to see which direction would win.

Maybe some had a chat and decided long was the way to go and then threw their orders in.

WP passed... In these situations, since you already on the winning side of the game, why not simply move your stop higher and higher (or a trailing stop), starting at 1.2324 for example... This is what I do at times.

So, locked in some profits, keep some longs for future TP & took a short on the 1.234 -> TP 1.230.

I post you here my 1H & 4H charts. We've been really bullish for the past 3 weeks, but we also started from a low level.
We are now slowly hitting the upper limit of the range I can foresee; i.e. 1.238.

So, from there, I can only look down. There is a major trend line (Paulenok upper channel limit) + a strong resistance at 1.2385 cupping any up move.
Personally, I do not expect a lot from the FOMC tomorrow. This event is normally a major market mover, but the recent Gov shutdown will probably tame any wish to change anything. I expect a wait&see attitude.

Let's see.

Target Met at the neckline. Standing Aside until after FOMC. The break of neckline is another trade to 1.240s, 1.2430s and 1.2480s.
The downside of 1.2280 to 1.2170s and 1.2110s

Having no EC open positions right now, would like to see a drop to 1.2170s and 1.2110s, staying there for the whole 2014 year

It seems after today EU CPI, market is pricing ECB rate cut on next week.

Jordan said on June meeting: SNB is ready to do more (negativ rates or lift up peg) if ECB use negativ rates.

It seems EURCHF could not go up without an SNB action

Currently swiss voters are equal... Final decision on 24th of november. A Yes would be a drag for the swiss economy...
