and the US home sales came just on the other side of the road to ruin the bears party... pity I almost bought at 1.613
i'm short already but if makes new high I will abandon.. Bears will come in 5min?

1.6160 is holding for now. after that we still have 6180/5 to get through and that will be a tough nut to crack... it will need further US negative / GB positive news.

US numbers were just horrible. destroyed the bear momentum.

The US numbers are ancient history. This is a technical play. High event risk on Thursday Wednesday will (or should) cause large speculators to take some profits on their USd shorts.

I say bounce, I reckon minutes coming out wednesday will be the decider, until then i reckon we range so I took this to come out of a short i had at 1.616 and booked a 162.379

I will of course be looking to add longs higher if and when.

Out for a well earned Cognac.

True they are very bad, but that was already priced in for the most part.
Remember the market was looking forward and started front running "peddle to the metal QE" right after the gov re-opened.
Now that the USD shorts are pretty much technically stretched, and also the fact that the Fed's forward guidance measures have lost almost all credibility, the market makers don't want to get caught with their pants down again. So, there should be profit taking on short USD positions before FOMC.

Yes bears have lost steam, and rightfully so, but that doesn't mean that the bulls are ready to take over.
