Is this the number that was supposed to come out on Thursday released just now?

Is that why the move?

yes it was the sept data due first Friday this month of October but was delayed due to U.s govt shutdown-came out y/day...that was known since lst week that it was y/day (Tuesday) - never saw Thursday anywhere ? Market knee-jerk reaction that was sustained thru the trading day thereafter was to the upside.

That is the weekly U.s release every Thursday known as 'initial claims' - it is not the U.s NFP release.

Ah, I see. Unemployment "claims" vs the Unemployment "rate".

Unemployment claims data (initial claims) is weekly on a Thursday....NFP/Unemployment rate/average hourly earnings are monthly - usually 1st Friday in the month...but this can change when stuff like a govt shutdown or bank Holiday happens.

I posted this at the w/e - obviously the monthly candle that is not closed yet looks more bullish now.....it shows why I think there is a greater probability of an upside beak thru 6259 previous swing hi at some point...could even breech upside of the 6349 previous swing hi. Uk data today (Boe minutes) and 3rd Qtr Gdp on Friday - if good and supportive may see at least an upside breech of 6259 previous swing hi ?

On my chart I've got the descending monthly T line at right around 6180.

You think we will pull back that far before moving up again?

for market conditions like this
speculation is the strongest thing to move the market
do not be too quick to speculate on the movement simply just because technically been confirmed.
use your psychological trading.......and use your logical trading
