hi there, been putting this ea running since monday, 7th of oct 2013. waiting the ea to place order. do we have to do it manually? or we just have to wait till it opened automatically? thanks before.

hi prahara, if everything is installed correctly, press CTRL9 and then wait patiently. For a first test, you can with CTRL1 or 2 trigger an order and delete it with CTRL3. But I recommend you to read the first 5 pages.

I'm showing Spread as "0" even though it's set to default as "70" in the EA properties. Is this something that needs changing?

Hi Seller9,

Again I'd like to suggest if you can make if these two pairs (USDCHF & EURGBP) opposite with the other 12 basket pairs when triggered. Where as if the 12 basket pairs sell these two pairs will be buy. In my demo account also shown that these two pairs is -ve while the other 12 pairs in +ve. Thanks it is just my opinion.

Latest v4 EA, Spread displaying 0, not updating.


Edit: reloaded everything from scratch, now displays spread ok!

Do you have some history that shows this? Below is what I am showing in my present 14 pair open short trade and as you can see they are opposite each other.

though it was an error with the installation. typed ctrl +1, dialog showed up,clicked yes but nothing happened. does all indicator appear correctly?

Check allow DLL imports and allow live trading options in the EA properties...

The EA placed an order earlier today but for some reason it placed 2 orders for gbp/usd and no order for aud/jpy

Hi

I was over at the other basket forum and saw something that manuel Fx had psoted and it looked interesting so I thought I would just add the numbers to the display and watch and see if it is of any use when deciding which direction to trade the pairs in the 14 pair basket.

Maybe of use when deciding which pairs to trade opposite.

What do you think? Go over and take a look at what he is doing.

It looks at a Box Size of 800 on the H4 time frame, here are the numbers at this time.

The only thing I can think of is the Robot did not get a response back in a timely manner from the server that the order was received so it sent another one of the same pair. It always checks first to see if the order has gone through before it tries to send the same order again.

Once it sees 5 open orders (in your case) it stops sending orders, thats why it skipped the last pair as it thought 5 orders had ben received by the server. This is the first time I have seen this with this Robot, will see if I can add some more checking by the Robot to try and avoid this.

I read this thread with great interest. I really like the basketing concept. I was wondering about how do you do to build a basket. Is there any rules to construct these baskets? What is the critere to choose the components? How to decide what to buy and what to sell?


I haven’t found any post talking about how to decide the composition of the basket and how to wheight each component. I think the purpose of basket is to have a smooth price curve so we should be able to choose correlations and wheights that allow us to build a custom curve.

Hi Intrader,

First, for you is to take your time and read up the information here on this thread. Two, set up a demo account and set up as already explained from Page one. Then from your observations as you trade the systerm. It will be clearer to you and then you can ask questions. Right now, you have not done any of that as it shows. Once you have done these, your questions will change and then asnwers will come. So get demo trading first I'd say.

Is it necessary to apply a magic number to the EA before attaching to the offline chart? My magic number currently is 0. I've seen other charts in this forum with numbers attached.

You can leave it at Zero but make sure you do not attach another Intance of the same EA again as you the Numbers is like a refference number. You can not have another Trade with the same Refference number that is why you have to change it yourself. Hope it makes sence.

Here is the 5 pair basket that triggered a long trade using Entry 0 as shown in a previous post, using the H4 IXO 800 total we would have a value of -1. I got the numbers from the other chart below that I have this test running on, I don't have it on the 5 pair chart, only the 14 pair so I just took those numbers from the 14 pair chart which would be the same for those five pairs.

I just wanted to see if this H4 IXO 800 setting could be used as a filter, maybe a threshold of at least +3 for going long and -3 for going short. I just add the numbers of all the pairs together to get the total, 5 numbers for the 5 pair basket.

Will do some more testing and watching to see if this has any legs to run with, it would have kept me out of the Long 5 pair trade, its still running so don't yet know how that trade will end. I have it presently running on the 14 pair basket and will see if it helps or not.

I Know you said you would look at this, I had another incident where it places 2 orders for aud/jpy but this was different to the last incident because it managed to place 6 orders
