Tony Plummer best describes this “pulse” in his book, “Forecasting Financial Markets”. It describes a “negative feedback” conditions that is present in the market about 80% of the time.
The theory behind the Price Pulse goes as follows:
The market is considered to be a “dynamic system” due to crowd behavior, (which is often non-rational, compulsive, and emotional). The two opposing forces of demand and supply are wrestling to find an equilibrium price level as new information is constantly entering the system. The majority of the time, new information leads to a push in price. As the information is digested the market reacts back in the opposite direction. The market moves in one direction until it receives new information. Then it reacts back in the other direction as traders digest the new information. This reaction casts doubt into the crowd’s mind about the market’s original direction, creating a movement in the opposite direction. The principle of a dynamic system is that new information is always coming in and influencing the action/reaction sequence.

possible long term trade building, GBP CAD weekly
been watching for awhile, over 3 years of tight ranging
cads been taking a hit lately and gbp been flexing her muscles also, pretty good signs this break out was on the cards, personally I would like to see a retest of the broken upper range, even as far as the 200sma and/or 50 cross
These cross,s on monthly charts are commonly referred to as death cross,s (google) and are closely monitored by the market players
If the broken resistances hold as support this could prove a nice medium / long term trade

Right now its a 200ish pip BO considering the size length and compression of the range, it could easily drive another 2 or 300 pips, before retesting the actual BO, hence the cautious scalp selling
Patient traders would wait for the retest, better entry , better r/r etc etc, but I am crazy and everything I do is crazy
