The same rubbish, some still think that any big market move occurs out of the central banks willingness.

If someone like George Soros had "cheated" BOE in someway at a certain time and situation, some might think that it can become a basic to work on.

Like when a third division club beats a Top High Ranking Club once per life time, that means nothing.

BOJ decided when yen must weaken, the same can be with the SNB, FED, RBA, BOE and others.

The Central Banks are the only side that can control the market(its currency basically), and it's through agreements between each other. Wake Up People

On the upside, EC resistance turned to 1.2275-80(possibly tomorrow), breaking it will turn attention to 1.2300s and 1.2330s, breaking this too will pave the way to 1.2430s. On the downside, the no penetration of 1.2275-80 may turn EC down to 1.2150s and 1.2110s.

Its all about the 1.22160 level if it gets tested today again it will probably break then no real reason why it shouldnt fall 100 pips to the 1.21160 area

Altough the war may not over for < 1.22 the first battle seems to be lost by bears ATM

This is the 200 EMA which was strong support, and it should be strong resistance

And there is a double bottom on H1 with neckline 1,2266. Teh first target of this formation is 1,2302, if we could break 1,2266 level.

It's testing 1.2275 right now and, yes Simon the 200EMA can also be a strong resistance.

I'm hoping to reload at dips again. Sigh, I've waited for 1 year for significant profits from EC.

I think scalping it the best strategy now, safer to scalp long. What do you guys think?

I dont think the big move to 1.30 is coming so yep long scalping sounds like a good idea alaneth

As a side note i wouldnt be surprised if the SNB are on the bid in usd/chf at 0.90000 and eur/chf at 1.22000

Yes, I also think SNB may be bidding EC around 1.22 levels. Due to their peg to Euro they may buy EUR first, then diversify to other currencies. Have to look at their forex reserves to confirm this. Meanwhile the weekly SNB sight deposits cannot tell anything - small fluctuations only & people are not rushing to transfer their funds into CH. The US shutdown has no significant effect on EC. Italy's effect made it go close to 1.22. So was the Cyprus effect some time ago. 1.22 seems to be a very strong support & yes, SNB may be doing something there, so my next buy-on-dip will set around 1.22.

It all depends on the period of the shutdown at the moment. Also to watch the debt ceiling deadline mid-Oct. A lot of uncertainties. I dare not speculate. Technicals don't work now for UC.

At the moment EURCHF is still the safe bet as the US crisis has no significant impact yet.

Hi guys,

I have a slightly different view in the present price evolution.
First of all, to me SNB will only be buying at 1.20, nothing before this! It already accumulated 70% of national GDP during last hit of the floor. It can not afford to buy more at every level, on top of what, the lower we go, the more traders will do this job for the SNB, as few people will be shorting the 1.22, or the 1.21 levels. Hence, they need to keep their full strength at the time the battle is really hot.

I don't see how the pair would react more the the Italian situation (purely political, no incidence on business and not part of the top 5 world economy) as compared to the US shutdown!! But for sure, people seek for safe currencies (CHF and to a lesser extend JPY). To be noted that both here above event will come to a 'positive' end in soon time!

For the pair, I favor a range between 1.222 and 1.228 over the coming couple of weeks. But, if we stay within this trading range too long and if 'situations' do not improve, the pair could drop by 1 level and come to 1.213.
More over, I still expect the USDJPY to go a little lower putting more pressure on the EC.

Now once of this is over.... we should see some moderate upside, going back to the 1.23x area (these looking at 1.3x areas are, at this stage, dreamers).

I wouldn't be surprised to see it head lower today with the weekend coming and no deal on the shutdown.

the longer it goes on and the closer to the debt ceiling we get the pressure will build on euro swissie.

Situation is simple.
Swiss bank is fighting with strong CHF, and they can print CHF as much as they want. It is only virtual digital money.
Later if the world will be selling CHF, Swiss bank will be buying CHF (to keep currency rate) and they will just press button DELETE. Will be as before.
:-)
If CHF would be too weak, THAT would be a problem!

and all these happens because there is no gold standard!
